About us
Greater Europe Mission is a community of disciple-makers that works through local ministries, churches, and relationships to share the love of Jesus throughout Europe. Most countries in Europe have a population where fewer than 3% claim a relationship with Jesus. In fact, many Europeans can go their entire lives never interacting with a follower of Jesus. Our passion to see Europe transformed by Jesus is what drives us. We are both locals and outsiders, and sometimes we’re newcomers. We are collaborators from different backgrounds working alongside one another, united by the same mission, vision, and values. As followers of Jesus, we strive to be disciples who make disciples. You're invited to join in what God is doing in Europe! There are many ways to get involved through praying, giving, and going with Greater Europe Mission. Check out our website at gemission.org to learn more.

There are many different ways to get involved in what God is doing across the unreached continent of Europe! You can: • PRAY – for GEM's 700+ workers and their ministries, and for God to send more laborers into His harvest • GIVE – to help us equip, send, and care for more missionaries across Europe • GO – to Europe with us; whether it's on a short-term trip, as a long-term worker, or something in between, we have opportunities for you to use your gifts and skills through GEM. Take your next step at gemission.org.

In 1944, Bob Evans, a 26-year-old US Navy Chaplain was sent to southern France to bring spiritual hope to men in battle. He became the first chaplain to willingly set foot in the normally off-limits combat zones. "This was not a job for the faint of heart. As the only chaplain with the invasion force, I found myself taking on the weighty responsibilities of praying with wounded soldiers in the medical tents at the end of their lives, in addition to encouraging my friends who had accepted Christ in recent days." -Bob Evans (in an excerpt from the book "Worth The Risk" by John Gilberts and Jazz Jones Becker) On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember the many men and women who have given their lives in service to their nation. And we pray for peace among all nations as the gospel of Jesus goes forth, shining brightly into the darkness of our fallen world.

This year, the holy seasons of Lent for Christians and Ramadan for Muslims began on the same day—an occurrence that hasn't happened in over 30 years. While observed for starkly different reasons, the parallels between Lent and Ramadan can be used as a bridge to share Jesus with your Muslim friends, neighbors, and coworkers. The heartbeat of the ALL Initiative is seeing Europe transformed by all believers making disciples in their everyday lives. Working in partnership with like-minded organizations across Europe, GEM helped pilot the Initiative in 2025, laying the groundwork for a full launch in 2026. This week (March 5–8), a community of everyday disciple-makers from across Europe will gather in Athens, Greece, for a time of worship, connection, and equipping. Will you join us in praying for this event and the ALL Initiative? You can learn more at https://lnkd.in/eM3CSgRA

For kids growing up between cultures, storybooks don’t always match their reality. That inspired GEM worker Alyx Scholl to write When the World is Your Home, a new book for Third Culture Kids and globally mobile families. The book celebrates the ups and downs of life between cultures and reminds kids they can stay rooted in Christ no matter where they live.
