You might not want to hear this, but most 3PLs were built for palletized logistics. Not the realities of modern e-commerce. They were designed to receive containers, palletize shipments, and send out truckloads, not to pick, pack, and ship thousands of one-off orders every single day. Their old operational model made sense when retail orders came in by the truckload. But today, Amazon’s algorithms promise delivery in hours, not weeks. Every missed SLA erodes vendor trust and customer confidence. Most 3PLs are missing: ❌ EDI or API integrations to process thousands of individual orders. ❌ Financial structures that make one-off shipments profitable. ❌ The speed and accuracy to maintain Amazon’s vendor compliance metrics. That gap is what keeps so many Seller Central brands from making the leap. It's also why even those who do leap often stumble. Before you think about moving from Seller to Vendor Central, audit your backend before your brand promise breaks.
