Xander Shapiro reposted thisXander Shapiro reposted thisWhat we did in Brazil a few weeks ago broke our hearts 💔 We infected a whole bunch of mangos with Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, the fungus responsible for mango anthracnose. It is the most severe pre- and postharvest mango disease globally. It destroys flowers, causes leaf lesions, and rots fruit, resulting in yield losses of up to 30–60%. Most common remedy: chemicals and lots of them. But we flipped the script. Instead of starting the chemical warfare, we treated half the mangos with our new all-natural, 100% plant derived Akorn Guard. Did it work? We think we killed it. When transit times slip, the question is not “Can I ship?” but “Will it arrive in condition my buyer can trust?” Producers who keep fruit strong through delays and temperature swings are more likely to win in their markets. The Human Resources Board ensures an equitable human resources system exists within the Town of Sharon. The board has five members appointed by a selection committee consisting of the Town Moderator, the chair or designee of the Select Board, and the chair or designee of the Human Resources Board. With every year that passes, I take time to reflect on what has brought me to that years milestone. This year's theme, and one that has become more apparent with each passing year, is my ability to adapt and remain flexible in an ever-changing workplace. Whether it's new technology, leadership changes, or the many other changes that occur within an organization, I've always been able to embrace change, even when the outcome wasn't what I had hoped for or expected. This past year was no exception. I started year 39 as a Del Monte Foods employee and ended it back where my journey began, Del Monte Corporation. The year ahead brings new challenges as our HR technology projects take on a broader global perspective under our new ownership. I'm excited about what's ahead and the accomplishments I hope to achieve as I begin my 40th trip around the Del Monte shield.

Low-level panic as #chocolate prices face double-digit increases! In the past 2 weeks, both The Hershey Company and Lindt & Sprüngli have said their prices will increase this fall. Others, including Nestlé, already have, as they all deal with increasing costs and volatility of #cocoa.
