Davidson College is governed by a Board of Trustees composed of between 30 and 45 members.

The Board of Visitors provides guidance in the pursuit of the college’s mission, advising the chair of the Board of Trustees, the president of the college, and other college officials. Board members are nominated by alumni, friends, and staff of the college. New members are selected by a nominating committee. Visitors meet once per year on campus and are asked to serve as ambassadors for Davidson in their communities.

The Alumni Association Board of Directors serves as a liaison between alumni and administration and staff to provide input on alumni activities, such as Reunion, Homecoming, and the travel program, oversee chapter programming and lead alumni in honoring the achievements of fellow alumni. As a reflection of the alumni body, the board also provides the college with insights into alumni sentiment on various issues concerning the college.

The LearnServe Incubator helps Fellows use Lean Startup methodology to design and launch social ventures to serve their schools and communities.

Incubator Leaders admit Fellows to the Incubator Program; translate Lean Startup methodology into a 9-month curriculum including workshops, guest speakers, and site visits to local startups / social enterprises; and organize an end of program Pitch Competition.

For over fifty years, Davidson's Board of Visitors has been an important, valued arm of the college. The members offer ideas and advice to the college's president and other officials, and they serve as ambassadors for Davidson by conveying their knowledge of Davidson to their communities.

The Alumni Association Board of Directors began the Alumni of Color Engagement (ACE) initiative in 2008. ACE develops new channels and opportunities for connection between alumni of color and the college to strengthen commitments and contributions to the life and success of the college.

ACE focuses on three main areas:
1. Event Attendance
2. Volunteerism
3. Participation in The Fund for Davidson
