𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝟵𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀?
That's exactly what happened at our June
Success North Dallas meeting.
Before our keynote speaker even stepped on stage, our community had already accomplished so much.
We welcomed first-time guests, and I asked longtime member
Thomas E Meyer to share why he joined SND more than 20 years ago...and why he's missed very few meetings since. His answer was a reminder that when you find a community that invests in you, you keep showing up. 🎯
We celebrated
Bill Wallace's 76th birthday in true SND fashion. 🎶 "76 Trombones" filled the room, followed by a heartfelt rendition of Happy Birthday from everyone in attendance. We also had the privilege of showcasing the beautiful portrait Ro Diaz created for Bill, which was presented during the
Single Parent Advocate Celebrity Golf Classic.
Speaking of the golf tournament...thank you to every SND member who volunteered! We had a record number of volunteers this year, and your willingness to serve made a tremendous impact for single-parent families in our community. ⛳
Our monthly Table Top Networking was another huge success. In fact, I had to work to get everyone's attention afterward because no one wanted the conversations to end! It means relationships are being built.
We were also thrilled to introduce
Lala Mirpuri as our new 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿. If you've met Lala, you already know her passion for people is contagious. I can't wait to watch the impact she'll have.
We celebrated our 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 and recognized
Danny Blake, MBA, CPD and
Travis Zscheck for the incredible leadership they've provided through coaching, mentoring, and SND Connect, helping connect talented young professionals with hiring opportunities throughout our community.
...and somehow all of that happened before our keynote.
Then
Chris Vasami took the stage.
Within minutes, he had the room laughing over his hand-drawn Venn diagram (and a good-natured joke with Ro Diaz about his artistic abilities). But what followed was far more than a motivational talk.
It was a challenge.
A reminder that we don't have to be defined by our past.
One statement continues to stick with me:
"𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡. 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠."
Chris didn't just speak and leave. He stayed afterward, answered questions, encouraged members individually, and continued pouring into people long after the meeting officially ended. That's the kind of leader we love bringing to SND.
Now...we get to do it again.
On July 15, we'll welcome the incredible
Cynt Marshall, former CEO of the Dallas Mavericks, for a conversation about leaving footprints through leadership and fingerprints through impact.
Come early. Meet someone new. Leave encouraged.
We'll save you a seat.
