Dev Bootcamp is a 19-week intensive training program that produces full-stack web developers, with emphasis on Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, Object-Oriented Programming, Test-Driven Design, solo- and pair-coding, and working within a team.
The program culminates with an 8-day team project. The Black people who do reach East-Asian-level performance are not anomalies → they are signals Look closely at Black students who are on par with top East Asian performers: They almost always have one or more of the following: • Elite schools (often missionary, private, or magnet) • Highly educated parents • Heavy exam culture (IB, British A-levels, French system) • Early exposure to math/science • Migration into high-rigor systems • Strong discipline + expectation structures at home In other words: ➡️ Change the system → change the outcome This is why: • Nigerian, Ghanaian, Kenyan students overperform after migration • African immigrants in the US often outperform US averages • Caribbean exam-track students excel in UK universities That’s not genetics flipping on at customs.
