Timothy Smith posted thisAfter nearly 15 incredible years, I wanted to share a personal update. My position at Fidelity Investments is being eliminated, and my journey with the firm is likely coming to a close. I’m deeply grateful for this chapter. Fidelity provided an environment where I grew significantly as a strategic business partner and a leader, while building lasting relationships. Over my tenure, I developed strong expertise in consultative leadership, strategic influence, and cross‑functional collaboration, while hiring and developing top talent across technology, financial leadership, and broader associate populations. I’ve had the privilege of leading and developing diverse, talented teams through a people‑first philosophy, while serving as a trusted Talent Acquisition partner supporting technology and leadership hiring. In close partnership with senior leaders, I drove results through workforce planning, market insights, and talent strategy—grounded in accountability, collaboration, and trust. My experience spans talent acquisition strategy, recruiting operations, onboarding, and analytics, where I’ve helped build scalable processes and self‑sufficient teams that consistently delivered in competitive, evolving markets. I bring a consultative, relationship‑driven approach defined by urgency, transparency, and a focus on meaningful outcomes. While Talent Acquisition has been central to my career, I’m excited to explore TA leadership/advisory roles and broader opportunities where my leadership, consulting, and problem‑solving skills can make a meaningful impact. I’m especially drawn to organizations where culture, collaboration, and mission are valued. If you’re open to reconnecting or aware of opportunities, I’d welcome the conversation. I’m eager to engage with colleagues, partners, and new connections to explore where I can add value. I’m grateful for my time at Fidelity and optimistic about what’s ahead. Onward to the next chapter. #TalentAcquisition #Leadership #OpenToWork #TechRecruiting #HRLeadership #PeopleLeadership #Hiring #FidelityAssociate

Timothy Smith shared thisFidelity Cares in Texas had a great time on Transformation Day! Working in conjunction with Fidelity Charitable® and Boys & Girls Club of Greater Tarrant County, we painting the building, refreshed game rooms, and painted murals and book shelves. We also cleaned up buses, power washed the bleachers and art chairs, and did cup art on the playground. Great job to all who participated! #FidelityAssociate

Those were the good ol' days! We had a great crew back then. I'm grateful our paths crossed even though it was cut short, but thankful that you were able to find a home here again after moving miles away. We will absolutely keep in touch and I appreciate all the kind words!

Timothy Smith liked thisTimothy Smith liked thisLike so many incredibly talented professionals, I became part of a layoff, not because of performance, but because of circumstances beyond my control. Since then, I’ve interviewed, refined my resume more times than I can count, expanded my skills, networked, taken contract work, driven Uber to pay the bills, and continued investing in myself. Through it all, one thing has never changed: I still love helping people learn, grow, and succeed. I miss building training programs that make someone’s first day less intimidating. I miss watching a leader have an “aha” moment. I miss partnering with operations teams to solve real business challenges through learning, systems adoption, and enablement. Being between employment opportunities hasn’t diminished my passion, my experience, or my ability to create impact. If anything, it’s strengthened my resilience, empathy, creativity, and appreciation for the opportunity to contribute. To every hiring manager reading this: the best candidate isn’t always the one who already has a job. Sometimes it’s the person who’s simply waiting for someone to see what they can bring to the table. I’m still here, still learning, still showing up, still believing the right opportunity is out there. And when it comes, I’ll be more than ready. If your organization is looking for a Learning & Development leader, Training Manager, Learning Technology Administrator, Systems Adoption Specialist, or AI Enablement professional, I’d love to connect. #OpenToWork #LearningAndDevelopment #Training #AIEnablement #LeadershipDevelopment #LearningTechnology #SystemsAdoption #Hiring #CareerGrowth #Multifamily

Timothy Smith liked thisTimothy Smith liked thisI NO LONGER WORK FOR AT&T. If you receive an email claiming to be from me about a job opportunity at AT&T, IT IS NOT ME. Someone is impersonating me using the email address jalonniweaver3@gmail.com and telling people they are conducting an executive search for a VP of HR position at AT&T paying $220,000 in Colorado. They are even linking my LinkedIn profile and the AT&T website to make the email look legitimate. Please do not respond to the email or share any personal information. I do not recruit for AT&T, and I have never used that Gmail address for recruiting. If this is what comes with having a large following, y’all can unsubscribe me from this because this is GHETTO. 🙄😂

Timothy Smith reacted on thisTimothy Smith reacted on this“You seemed so happy. Why did you leave your previous company?” It’s a question I’ve been asked a lot lately. And the truth is, I was grateful. Why wouldn’t I be? I worked for a company that paid my bills, provided incredible benefits, and allowed me to reach six figures for the first time. Those are the parts of my journey I chose to share publicly because they were true. But two things can be true at the same time. What people didn’t always see were the things I was no longer willing to accept: the micromanagement, the long commute, constantly feeling like I had to prove myself only to still be questioned, being spoken to in ways that made me feel small despite addressing it multiple times, and feeling like every win required an explanation. I had reached a point where the work no longer gave me purpose. I found myself going through the motions instead of feeling fulfilled. I realized I had become attached to the salary and the "stability", but I was no longer connected to the work in the way I wanted to be. Advocating for yourself is important, but it becomes exhausting when you’re the only one fighting for the things that matter to you. At some point, you realize you’re spending more energy defending yourself than being supported. I accepted that role because I believed providing for my family meant I had to prioritize the salary above everything else, and while I’m thankful for what that opportunity provided, I’ve learned that no amount of money is worth silently suffering. In August, I'll be joining a company that offers comparable compensation and benefits, a shorter commute, and leadership that embodies the qualities I value most. More importantly, it feels like a healthier environment where partnership, trust, and respect are present. I’m sharing this not to burn bridges, but because I believe we’re allowed to tell our stories honestly. Gratitude and transparency can coexist. Sometimes walking away from what looks like a dream on paper is exactly what you need to protect your peace. And that’s my truth.

Timothy Smith liked thisTimothy Smith liked thisI am excited and honored to share that I have been selected to serve as the Vice President of Alumni Relations for the Bears' Association of Human Resources Baylor University. I would like to extend a special thank you to Dianna Tardio for creating this position and building such a strong foundation for alumni engagement within the organization. Through her leadership, she has fostered meaningful connections between current students and alumni, creating opportunities that will continue to benefit BAHR members for years to come. I certainly have some big shoes to fill, but I am excited for the opportunity to build upon the incredible work that has already been done and continue strengthening relationships within the BAHR network. Thank you to everyone who has placed their trust in me. I look forward to serving our members and alumni and helping further the mission of BAHR.

Timothy Smith liked thisTimothy Smith liked this📣📣📣 JOB UPDATE 📣📣📣 After a lengthy process, I was informed yesterday morning that another external candidate was selected. This one hits different because I was on the doorstep of a phenomenal leadership opportunity. You know when you found the role that would fit you like a glove 🧤, you go through the process, perform extremely well, make it to the final steps, and you still don’t get the job. Man, that hurts. Even though I’m disappointed in the final result, I can’t allow that to deter me from what God has planned for me. For those who are actively pursuing their next opportunity, please don’t give up when disappointment comes your way. Continue to push forward and persevere. God will open the right door 🚪 for you to walk through. 🙏🏾🎯
