Tim Dutton shared thisOne of the best books I've read this year... fit into a single plane flight. Daniel Pink, recommended "Excellent Advice for Living: Wisdom I Wish I'd Known Earlier" by Kevin Kelly. It's not a book full of lofty theories or complicated frameworks. It's a collection of short, practical observations about work, relationships, decision-making, learning, and living well. The kind of advice that makes you stop, reflect, and think, "I wish someone had told me this years ago." What I appreciated most was its simplicity. Each page offers small pieces of wisdom that's easy to understand but often takes years to learn through experience. Advice like "you don't have to attend every argument you are invited to." or "The more you are interested in others, the more interesting they'll find you. To be interesting, be interested." Sometimes the best books don't give us new information. They remind us of truths we already know but need to hear again. What's one piece of practical advice that's stayed with you, something you think everyone should hear? Share it in the comments. I'd love to learn from your wisdom.

Tim Dutton shared thisGrowing as a leader doesn’t begin on someone’s first day of work. It starts much earlier at Loma Linda University. Grateful to see Sophia Hamilton and David Iwasa investing in the Resident Assistants serving students in the Loma Linda University residence halls. Their time and intentional mentorship are shaping future leaders, one discussion at a time. At Loma Linda University Health, our motto to make man whole begins by investing in people. Watching colleagues develop the next generation with purpose and care is special. #LomaLindaUniversityHealth #MissionInAction #LeadershipDevelopment #MakeManWhole

Tim Dutton shared thisGreat partnerships create opportunities that no one organization can create alone. I’m grateful to be part of Loma Linda University Health, where San Manuel Gateway College is helping prepare and develop tomorrow’s workforce. It was a pleasure meeting Bradley Gates and Robert Chavez from the San Bernardino County Workforce Development Board. Conversations like these are energizing because they remind us what happens when healthcare, education, and workforce development come together with a shared purpose. Together, we have an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact in our community. Tim Dutton shared thisOne of the things I appreciate most about plane flights is having space to read! I just picked up two books that I’m looking forward to diving into: 📖 The Seven Commitments of a Great Team - Jon Gordon 📖 Uncommon Beliefs (coming later this summer) - Stephen Mackey What’s on your summer reading list? What topic or book are you committed to learning from this summer? I’d love to add a few recommendations to my list.

Tim Dutton shared thisOne of the greatest gifts of leadership is learning from people who are committed to growth. We heard exceptional keynotes by Tim Elmore, Colette Carlson, CSP, CPAE Hall of Fame Speaker, Chris Singleton, Jon Gordon, Joe Sanfelippo, & Stephen Mackey. The Humanex Ventures 2026 Impact & Legacy Summit was a great reminder that hearing others share practical, real-world approaches to growth helps us become better leaders ourselves. The more we invest in our own development, the more we have to invest in the people we serve. A special shout out to Mark Hubbard who revived a legacy and impact award for his tremendous contributions at Loma Linda University Health. Shout out to Brad Black and Nancy Hilton my fellow breakout speakers, it was a special treat to present with you both! Tim Dutton shared thisWhat systems or habits do you have in place to consistently develop people? What sacrifices are you willing to make to help others reach their potential. Marc Effron in his book One Page Talent Management shares the 70 * 20 * 10 model of development where by 70% of the impact necessary to grow others is experiences. That is a great place to start! I’d love to hear what experiences have helped you grow the most!

Tim Dutton shared thisThis weekend, I experienced my first Loma Linda University graduation weekend. What stayed with me wasn’t just the ceremony, it was the people. Children cheering for their parents. Parents celebrating their children. Hundreds of first-generation graduates crossing the stage with stories of sacrifice, perseverance, and transformation. Every diploma represented a life changed, a family impacted, and a future filled with possibility. There was another meaningful moment as well. This marked the final graduation season for Dr. Richard Hart as his remarkable tenure as President and CEO comes to a close. His leadership has helped shape generations of graduates who are now serving communities around the world. What a powerful reminder of why education, mission, and service matter. Congratulations to the Class of 2026. Your journey is inspiring, and your impact is just beginning. Tim Dutton shared thisBig things are happening for the children and families we serve in San Bernardino, Riverside counties and beyond. This week, I had the opportunity to see firsthand how compassion, technology, and thoughtful planning are coming together inside the new specialty clinics at Loma Linda University Children's Health. Every detail has been designed with patients and families in mind, creating a space that supports healing, hope, and wholeperson care. We can’t wait to welcome our first patients in January and expand access to this state-of-the-art pediatric specialty care for our community. The future is bright, and it’s being built one patient, one family, and one caregiver experience at a time. Tim Dutton shared this119 years. Let that sink in. This week, I had the privilege of attending the spring pinning ceremony for the Loma Linda University School of Nursing. For more than a century, this tradition has celebrated nurses who are stepping into a calling built on compassion, excellence, and whole-person care. As I looked across the room, I couldn’t help but think about the impact these graduates will have on countless patients, families, and communities in the years ahead. I’m proud to be part of Loma Linda University that invests in developing the future of healthcare and carries forward a mission that has been changing lives for generations. Congratulations to each of the graduates. Your journey is just beginning, and the future is brighter because of you! It's one of the most personal battles anyone can face - and we're very lucky to have a system like Kettering Health fighting for people every day. Here's a tease of this campaign, with SO much more to come. Can't wait to share what our amazing team has been creating. #TeamBoomCrateTim Dutton liked thisBig ideas, fun film days, the best crew, and one incredibly meaningful project. #teamboomcrate has been busy bringing a new campaign for Kettering Health to life and we can't wait for you to see it! Tim Dutton liked thisTim Dutton liked thisThe Power of a Team💯 One of the greatest gifts you’ll ever experience is being part of a team. I’ve been on a team since 5 yrs old! #Saints In a world that keeps pulling us apart, teams pull us together. Technology has connected our devices, but too often disconnected our hearts. We text instead of talk. We react with emojis instead of facial expressions. We hit “like” instead of offering words that build someone up. None of those things can replace a handshake, a hug, a high five, or looking someone in the eye and saying, “I’ve got your back.” That’s why teams matter. A great team reminds you that life isn’t about me—it’s about we. When you genuinely care about the people around you and commit yourself to a purpose bigger than yourself, something incredible happens. Fear begins to lose its grip. Confidence grows. Stress decreases. Belonging increases. The best teams don’t just help us win games. They help us become better people. When everyone is rowing in the same direction, encouraging one another, sacrificing for one another, and chasing a common purpose, extraordinary things become possible. As the old saying goes, Together Everyone Achieves More. Find a team. Serve your team. Fight for your team. Celebrate your team. Because together, we really are better. #NeverStopGettingBetter #NSGB #Teamwork #Leadership #Culture #BetterTogether #MentalPerformance #LeadershipDevelopment #Coaching #Connection #Purpose #ServeOthers #GrowthMindset #ChampionshipCulture #Together

Tim Dutton liked thisTim Dutton liked thisLast week, my 2011 GMC Yukon crossed 200,000 miles. It reminded me that lasting strength rarely comes from one big decision. It comes from thousands of small ones. Routine maintenance. Paying attention early. Investing in prevention. Staying committed to the long road ahead. That lesson applies to health care too. In rural communities, people depend on organizations that stay strong, reliable, and mission-focused over time. Whether we are caring for patients, developing leaders, or expanding access, our responsibility is to keep showing up with consistency and care. The same is true for good health. The habits that support a vehicle for the long run, routine upkeep, early intervention, and steady attention, also help people live healthier lives. Grateful for the journey so far and focused on the road ahead. #KeepMovingForward #HospitalLeadership #Healthcare #GoodolGMC

Tim Dutton liked thisMilan, it was extra special having you with us AND honoring you with a well deserved Exemplar award. You’re a special difference maker and we look forward to having you with us again and again!! Can’t thank you enough for modeling excellence!!Tim Dutton liked thisStill digesting all of the great insights and reminders on how great leaders lead their organizations and people. Thanks to the generosity of Ben Zitek, MBA and Brad Black, and the whole Humanex Ventures people...I was able to learn from all of the great keynote speakers who shared their time and talents with us. First time hearing Chris Singleton, Joe Sanfelippo, Colette Carlson, CSP, CPAE Hall of Fame Speaker and Steph Mackey and their messages were incredible on many fronts. Tim Elmore and Jon Gordon never disappoint and bring amazing insights to leading today's workforce. So grateful for the two days. Although I could write so many takeaways, here are a few that stand out: 1. Busy-ness is the enemy for connectedness. 2. Connection lives in the follow-up questions you ask. 3. You NEVER lose helping OTHERS win. 4. Anything you can do with a negative attitude...you can DO BETTER with a POSITIVE ATTITUDE. 5. You will be as strong as you are willing to ask for help.
