The conversations and knowledge sharing around #robotics and #EdgeAI energizing. There’s something powerful about bringing together builders, technology leadership, and ecosystem partners who are all pushing the boundaries of intelligent devices. It was fantastic connecting with colleagues from Qualcomm and partners from Arrow Electronics and Advantech USA. The trip itself turned into a small adventure — a New Jersey blizzard resulted in my cancelled flight, which meant a 6-hour drive instead. Tim Farwell liked thisI almost didn't pursue Aliro. Quantum networking was so far outside anything I'd worked on that I honestly wasn't sure I belonged in the room. But the more I looked into it, the more I couldn't look away — and curiosity won out over doubt. So I did what I could — I started reading, and asking questions. And I couldn't stop. The technology drew me. But the people are what closed it. A founding team that lives and breathes this science, a leadership group whose conviction is contagious, and engineers who've frankly forgotten more about this domain than I currently know — and who I get to learn from every day. I've always believed that how a team treats each other is the leading indicator of what they'll build together. I felt that here before I ever said yes. So this week, I joined Aliro Quantum as their new SVP of Engineering. I know exactly what my first job is: to listen, to ask more questions than I answer, and to earn the trust of a team that was doing extraordinary work long before I arrived. I can't wait to get started. To the Aliro team: thank you for the welcome. Let's go build the quantum internet! And if you're in quantum, in networking, or just curious how those two worlds are colliding — I'd love to compare notes. I would like to thank my colleagues, customers, and all of you who have become more than colleagues/customers but now whom I consider friends. Mel and I are so excited about this next chapter but I will miss the day to day conversations with so many of you in my network.
