Reflecting on everything I experienced at Darktrace SKO FY27. This event reinforced a conviction I firmly hold: AI agents are transforming the future of business, and protecting them is one of the greatest cybersecurity challenges of our generation. I am incredibly proud to be part of Darktrace, where we help organizations adopt AI with confidence through Secure AI, providing the visibility, understanding, and protection needed in this new era. This SKO also provided one of the most significant moments of my career. I am deeply honored to receive the Solutions Engineer of the Year Americas LATAM (FY26) award and to be inducted into the President's Club. This recognition means much more than a trophy. Just two years ago, I faced one of the most difficult health challenges of my life. During that time, resilience became a daily choice, and my family my greatest source of strength. Looking back, this achievement reminds me that perseverance, passion, and the support of those around us can truly change our lives. A sincere thank you to our entire Account Executive team and Sales Leadership for your trust, collaboration, and continuous support Gabriel Samper Alvarado and Daniel Sepulveda. Every success this year was the result of teamwork and a shared commitment to our customers. Special thanks to July Paola Varón Garcia and Dorian Ardila. I am very proud to have received the Move First award during the Darktrace CKO. I joined Darktrace last March, and over the past few months I have been building, designing and testing an analytics and visualisation platform for tracking R&D’s Gitlab tickets (called Gitlab Analyser). The first version of this went live a couple of months after I joined, and so far there has been regular updates with improvements - with the next big version coming out soon! This platform now gives great visibility to R&D to track release cycles, tickets and priorities - removing friction from process. I would like to thank Alfie Cook for giving me a lot of flexibility and freedom when it came to building and for QAing relentlessly so we put out the best platform possible. I wish to also extend thanks to the rest of the Product team for being very welcoming and for providing many ideas and suggestions for how to improve Gitlab Analyser!

Walls/Firewalls Never Win Wars Lessons from History for Modern Cybersecurity History never taught us to build higher walls. It taught us that security is a system, not a barrier. 1. Lessons from the Great Wall of China and the Maginot Line Civilizations did not fall because their walls were too low. They fell because they believed that walls alone could protect everything. -The Great Wall of China: Its failures were not caused by weak fortifications, but by bribery, insider compromise, and political dysfunction. -The Maginot Line: It became a monument to strategic complacency when Germany simply bypassed it through the Ardennes, exploiting an unexpected gap rather than attacking the fortress itself. 2. The Cybersecurity Trap in the AI Era As security professionals, we often focus on defensive technologies. Yet today’s attackers rarely assault the wall directly. Instead, they exploit the unseen attack surface, including: * Phishing and social engineering * Identity compromise * Supply chain attacks,Insider abuse * AI-assisted reconnaissance and automation No firewall can completely prevent these threats. 3. Beyond Firewalls: The Spirit of Thailand’s Cybersecurity Act B.E. 2562 (2019) is not merely about deploying security technologies. It emphasizes cybersecurity management as a governance system, rather than a collection of technical controls. Sections 45-46: Risk Assessment Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) organizations are required to conduct cybersecurity risk assessments and establish response plans. Walls is not enough. Organizations must understand where their risks. Section 49: Incident Response The Act requires organizations to report and respond to cybersecurity incidents. Cyber resilience is measured not by preventing every attack, but by how effectively an organization detects, responds, and recovers. Section 51: Review and Continuous Improvement Cybersecurity is not a one-time investment in hardware. It is an ongoing process of governance, auditing, review, and continuous improvement. 4. AI Is Making Walls Smaller/Weaker/Useless Modern attackers no longer rely on brute force.They use AI to: * Discover hidden vulnerabilities * Exploit supply chains * Impersonate trusted identities * Abuse privileged accounts * Attack organizations lacking visibility and continuous monitoring The organizations that will thrive are not those with the thickest firewall. They are the ones that build: * People & Culture – A strong security culture across the organization. * Asset Visibility – Complete awareness of digital assets and attack surfaces. * Governance & Agility – Effective leadership, rapid response, and resilient recovery capabilities. Attackers never ask: “Which firewall vendor do you use?” They ask: “Which door is left unguarded?” Deploying a firewall is a technical requirement. Building Cyber Resilience is a strategic responsibility grounded in modern cybersecurity governance and organizational leadership.

What a ride this week has been at the Darktrace SKO in Las Vegas! The week started with a small health setback, but it quickly turned into an incredible journey of learning, inspiration, and achievement. From deep dives into our vision for SecureAI and the future of cybersecurity, to connecting with colleagues from around the world, this SKO was truly unforgettable. To top it all off, the final two days brought two very special recognitions: 🏆 LATAM was recognized as Darktrace's Region of the Year for FY2026 🏆 Diego Izquierdo and I were honored as Channel Team of the Year These awards are a reflection of the passion, collaboration, and relentless commitment of so many people. I am deeply grateful to my teammates who made this possible, our incredible and ever-growing channel ecosystem, and my colleagues and friends Gabriel Pires and Diego Izquierdo, whose partnership and dedication continue to inspire me every day. A very special thank you to Gabriel Samper Alvarado for his mentorship, guidance, and support throughout this journey. Your leadership has made a lasting impact. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such an amazing team and organization. Moments like these remind us that success is never achieved alone, it is built through trust, teamwork, and a shared vision.
