What I'm seeing: 🤌 A visual identity so textured I can almost feel it through the screen 🎁 16 total features (6 fan faves plus 10 new ones like artist sprint and party) ⬇️ A feed-like scroll taking over from stories, pulling you deeper instead of hopping stop-to-stop 👉 a new level of interaction design 👯♀️ New social proof and more ways to feel connected 🧅 A UX with loads of layers and exit points, but it still manages to guide you through I'm still getting my head around it, unpicking the layers like an onion as I type. Taryn Wood reposted thisTaryn Wood reposted thisA lead designer once told me, “We don’t have time for UX research.” I said, “Then you’ll make time for rework.” Because that’s the tradeoff. If you skip qualitative research, your next sprint will be filled with fixes. If you skip quantitative research, your next decision will be based on vibes. I’ve seen this mistakes with every single design team I’ve worked with. Zero exceptions. Myself included. Here’s the cycle that works: Qualitative → Design → Quantitative → Refine. Talk → Build → Measure → Repeat. Let me explain: Qualitative research makes people care. Quantitative research makes people act. Together? They make decisions make sense Through numbers, you measure behavior. Through stories, you understand it. My process allows me to: 1. Design with confidence, not assumptions 2. Balance empathy with research evidence 3. Build products users actually want Every great product you admire was built this way. Skip a step and you’ll build twice. (Repost ♻️ if this hits home.) P.S. The folks who quietly go learn the new tool, wire up the system, and make things work before the company even realizes it needed doing. They don’t wait for permission or perfect clarity. They just start building. And weirdly, those same people are often the ones who feel the most out of place right now. They’re not sure what to call themselves. They’re not data scientists. They’re not engineers. They’re not influencers. They’re just figuring it out. Here’s the truth: That instinct to learn fast, connect dots, and turn chaos into clarity is the essential skill of the AI era. If you’re that person: • You’re not behind. • You’re not an imposter. • You’re infrastructure. The future of AI transformation won’t come from consultants in slide decks. It’s going to come from the inside. From the builders, the operators, the ones who already see how it could all work better. You don’t need to become someone else to matter in this next wave. You just need to recognize what you already are. I’m spending the next few months helping these “figure-it-out” people step into real AI Transformation Lead roles inside their companies and across industries. These are heavy times for the planet. Almost daily, we see new blows to the foundation of climate science and policy — and it can feel hopeless. I was feeling that a bit yesterday. Then we got this email from a subscriber: "Hi one5c team! A few days ago I started listening to OnBeing's series on hope. The first journaling prompt asked us to reflect, without self-editing, on what’s bringing us despair — and hope. Unsurprisingly, climate change made the despair list. But then, on my hope list, I wrote: ‘People working to make a difference.’ And even more concretely — one5c. So I just wanted to let you know: the work you're doing is shaping my life choices and offering me real hope." Talk about energizing. Taryn Wood liked thisTaryn Wood liked thisAs we wrap day 2 of CONFIG 2026. The biggest takeaway for me: AI is not replacing design judgment. It is making it more important. Design agents, code layers, and motion are giving teams new ways to move from idea to product faster. Figma seems focused on preserving what makes design valuable: craft, taste, intuition, and the ability to shape experiences people actually care about. As design gets more democratized, everyone can have an opinion. But meaningful differentiation will come from knowing what is worth making, what feels good, and what can scale. Great products need more than usability. They need adoption, commercial relevance, and enough emotional pull that people want to talk about them with friends and family. Taryn Wood liked thisTaryn Wood liked thisAfter nearly four years, I left Amazon last week. I joined to build. I stayed because of the people, and I'm leaving with more knowledge about deal making than I could possibly have expected. The lessons started early. I came in with years of successful deal-making behind me, and Amazon made that a starting point, not a credential. When I submitted my first batch of publisher agreements, I was told they wouldn't be signed; they didn't generate enough value for Amazon. The challenge wasn't to use Amazon's scale as a hammer. It was to look deeper at where Amazon genuinely creates value for partners, price that honestly, and build something both sides want. I renegotiated every one and executed them all. A few of the lessons I'm taking with me: Bar-raising means the first right answer is often the starting point. Scale thinking means building for the constraint you don't have yet. Customer obsession isn't about rolling over to please a customer — it's about creating sustainable value for both sides. These aren't Amazon values. They're durable principles that Amazon enforces with unusual rigor. Larry Linietsky: thank you for bringing me into Amazon. You are, without a doubt, the hardest working person in audio — and a true friend. Anirudh Vemprala and Bryan Quinn: thank you both for pushing back on those first deals and showing me that raising the bar isn't just a slogan. Shamir Arzeno, MBA and Bobbie Leahy: thank you for giving me a front-row seat at Amazon Shipping to absorb how Amazon identifies a capability, builds a service around it, and scales it deliberately until it redefines the market.
