This means that the look of IDs you encounter may change soon! The REAL ID Act set new and improved security standards for all U.S.-issued driver’s licenses and ID cards. While this will have a tremendous impact on reducing fraud and imposture, your challenge in the near future is ensuring your ability to recognize valid credentials and not refuse a notarization because you’re not familiar with them. No state requires Notaries to only accept REAL ID-compliant IDs. But Notaries will encounter identity documents with unfamiliar designs, symbols and security features.

In 2019 I became a member of Post 1616 Auxiliary in Williamstown, New Jersey. I was elected Conductress in 2020 and Jr. Vice President in 2022. One of the most rewarding things that I have done is try to get the younger Veterans involved with the Organization, including my husband. My Husband retired from the Army is 2020 after 20 years of service. The VFW Post was a great way for us to give back to the older generations and help them in their times of need. We will continue to support Veterans…
