How do you keep technical teams on track with shifting business goals during transformation without burning them out? During one cloud modernization project, our priorities shifted midstream. Instead of pushing the team too hard, we cut down the roadmap and focused only on the milestones that directly served our business goals. The result was better progress, less turnover, and a more motivated team. That experience really changed how I lead transformations now. I’ve found that getting everyone aligned comes from focus and clarity, not pressure. Now, I make sure to prioritize realistic roadmaps with clear business context, milestones that are achievable and meaningful, and quick wins that boost energy rather than exhaust. These wins are critical, but making them happen means understanding how teams work best, creating space for autonomy, and making sure every contributor sees how their work moves the business forward. SPDX support in Dependency-Track? Not right now. There’s an open issue to bring back SPDX v3, but the long-term goal isn’t about picking sides, it’s format agnosticism. Dependency-Track ingests SBOMs into its own model so teams can act on insights, not syntax. Let’s not make formats the bottleneck. #cyclonedx #devsecops #oss

🌐 Understanding Local vs World Position in #Threejs & How It Affects TransformControls If you’re working with Three.js and especially TransformControls, understanding the difference between Local Position and World Position is crucial. 1️⃣ Local Position The position of an object relative to its parent. (0,0,0) means the center of the parent object. Example: child.position.set(2,0,0); // relative to parent Moving the parent affects the child, since the child’s position is local. 2️⃣ World Position The position of an object relative to the entire scene, independent of its parent. You can get it like this: const worldPos = new THREE.Vector3(); child.getWorldPosition(worldPos); console.log(worldPos); For gizmos and global controls, you usually need the world position. 3️⃣ Difference between add() and attach() in TransformControls add(): Adds the gizmo as a child of the object. Gizmo moves with the object (local position). Quick but less flexible if you want to switch objects. attach(): Attaches the gizmo to the object, but the gizmo remains a child of the scene. Independent of the object’s movement but still controls it. Recommended for professional setups, especially when switching between objects. 💡 Pro Tip: If your gizmo appears at the center of the scene when using attach(), it’s usually because the object’s local origin is (0,0,0).
