Stewart Life Coaching shared thisThe Star of Self-Esteem How to build your self-esteem? Here’s something special for you! Just 3 steps. 1. First off, grab your journal. If you don’t have one, buy the most beautiful one :) I’m not joking — it has to be really special! 2. Now you've got your journal in front of you. On the first six empty pages, write down these six titles: 1. What am I good at? 2. What have I accomplished recently that makes me proud? 3. What skills do I have that are useful in my life? 4. What are the good things about my personality? 5. What do I like about myself physically, emotionally, or personally? 6. What do people say they appreciate about me? 3. Great! Now, schedule a 2-hour slot in your calendar. This will be a time just for yourself. And if you can, spend those 2 hours in nature or in a place you love. “What should I do?” Oh, you just need to reflect and write down the answers to those 6 questions. Let’s see what your journal could look like: 1. What am I good at? → I’m organized → I’m a good cook → I’m good with tech (This could be skills you use at work or things you enjoy doing) 2. What have I accomplished recently that makes me proud? → I started exercising regularly → I finished a tough project at work → I learned a new hobby — painting 3. What skills do I have that are useful in my life? → I’m a good listener → I’m good with numbers → I’m at fixing things around the house 4. What are the good things about my personality? → I’m honest → I’m patient → I’m kind to others 5. What do I like about myself physically, emotionally, or personally? → I like my smile → I like my determination → I like my sense of humor :) 6. What do people say they appreciate about me? → My friends say I’m a good listener → My colleagues value my teamwork → My family appreciates my support Now you’re more aware of your uniqueness, right? Super! Read your answers 3 times a day for the next 90 days.

I used to be a bit of a perfectionist too. Sometimes, we just need to practice a bit of self-compassion. Let’s see how to do that in practice. Just make sure to grab a pen and paper! 1. Alright, you've got your pen and paper. Now, ask yourself: → How do I feel when I think about being perfect at work? Maybe you feel a bit anxious. Maybe a bit overwhelmed. Or maybe even a bit scared. It’s okay to have these feelings sometimes. Take a moment and write down what you’re feeling. For example: → I feel anxious because I’m afraid of making mistakes in front of my colleagues 2. Now, let’s see if you and I agree on this: → Everyone makes mistakes and faces challenges at work → We’re not the only ones who feel this way Are you with me? Yes? Great! Now, jot down a few examples of friends who’ve struggled with perfectionism. Think of someone who's shared their challenges with you. Why do this? Because it helps you realize that you’re not alone in feeling that way. 3. Now, try talking to yourself like you'd talk to a good friend. Ask yourself: → If my friends were feeling anxious about being perfect, what would I say to them? Write down some kind words you can offer yourself, like: → It’s okay to make mistakes → I’m doing my best, and that’s enough Self-kindness matters, right? 4. Okay, now it’s time to commit. “Um, commit?” Yeah, commit. Make a commitment to practice self-compassion regularly. Here’s what to do: → Grab your phone → Set a daily reminder Your goal is to pause and check in with yourself. You just need to ask yourself this question: → Am I being kind to myself today? If you find yourself feeling critical, do this: → Revisit the steps above → Remind yourself that you’re human Sometimes, we just need to be kinder to ourselves

Stewart Life Coaching shared thisThe Star of Self-Awareness How to be more self-aware? One thing we can do is reflect and answer five special questions. This way, you’ll become more self-aware. Let’s see how to use the Star of Self-Awareness. 1. “What are my core values and beliefs?” Why is this question important? Because knowing what really matters to us helps us make better decisions. Also, it helps us live in a way that feels true to who we are. It’s like having a compass that guides us through life. 2. “What are my strengths and weaknesses?” We can’t be self-aware without knowing → what we’re good at → and what we’re not good at Right? Understanding what you’re good at helps you do more of those things. Understanding what you’re not good at helps you improve and grow stronger. Even though I’m a big believer of: → Focusing on your strengths → Just mitigating your weaknesses 3. “What are my passions and interests?” Your passions are the things that make you excited and happy, right? The same goes for your interests. It’s like our personal fuel that brings us joy and fulfillment. We can’t understand ourselves without knowing that special fuel. Are you with me? 4. “What are my goals and aspirations?” Your goals and dreams are like stars in the sky, right? They give you something to aim for. They keep you motivated and focused on what you wanna achieve in life. So we need to be aware of them, don't we? 5. “How do I handle adversity and failure?” This is a special question. Knowing how we deal with tough times helps us become more self-aware. If we see setbacks as a dramatic failure, well, we can change our mind. This question helps us understand our framework in terms of failures. And eventually, change it. You just need to take some time and answer those 5 special questions. This way: → You’ll become more self-aware → You’ll understand yourself better → You’ll know why you do what you do → And you’ll make your uniqueness shine

Stewart Life Coaching shared thisThe Sleep Cycle How to sleep better? We’ve definitely got some tips! Here are 6 things I do to optimize my sleep: 1. Before bed, I do 2 minutes of deep breathing. I do this right before going to sleep. You can try the 4-7-8 breathing technique: → Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds → Hold your breath for 7 seconds → Breathe out through your mouth for 8 seconds Repeat this for 4-8 rounds. 2. Before bed, I take a 5-minute cold-hot shower: → 30 seconds cold → 30 seconds hot I repeat this cycle 5 times. This helps me: → Relax my body → Speed up muscle recovery That "cold shock" is more for muscle recovery than relaxation. It’s widely used in sports. So, if you don’t like it or don’t need it, try relaxing with: → Journaling → Reading a book → Gentle stretching → Taking a warm bath Usually, 5 minutes is enough. 3. Consistency matters in sleep, right? Our body follows a circadian rhythm throughout the day. That’s why I go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. Yes, even on weekends! This helps our body get used to a routine. 4. Having a comfy bedroom is important, right? It’s pretty much like creating a good work environment. How can we work effectively in an uncomfortable workplace? The same goes for sleep. Here’s what I do: → I keep my room cool, dark, and quiet → I have a comfy mattress and pillows → I use earplugs It makes a huge difference — promise! 5. Blue light isn’t good for our sleep. Are you with me? Great! That’s why: → My iPhone and iPad are in night mode 24/7 → My Mac is in night mode from 7 AM to 5 AM (the next day) This means my eyes are exposed to blue light only from 5 to 7 AM. Plus, I stop watching screens at least 2 hours before bedtime. 6. I exercise every day — it’s my passion! But exercise isn’t just my passion. It’s also one of the best ways to: → Fall asleep faster → Sleep better So, get moving during the day, but try not to exercise too close to bedtime. Especially if your workout is very intense. That said, it varies from person to person. I usually work out at 5 PM — and it works for me Just try to figure out what works for you.

Stewart Life Coaching shared thisThe Self-Talk Triangle How to handle negative thoughts at work? Ready to try the "Negative Thoughts Challenge"? It's a tool often used in therapy to reduce complaining. But we can also use it to cut down on negative thoughts. Let’s dive in! 1. Here’s what to do for one week: → Grab a notebook or your phone → Write down each time you catch yourself thinking something negative about yourself It could be something like: → I’m not good enough for that promotion → I’ll never be successful in this job Just jot it down as soon as you notice it. And don’t judge yourself for having these thoughts. Just keep track of them. 2. After a week, do this: → Go back to your notes → Look over all the negative thoughts you wrote down For each one, ask yourself: → Is this thought actually true? → What proof do I have that says otherwise? → How can I change this thought to make it more positive? For example, you might realize: → Hey, I’ve actually been getting good feedback from my boss! → I’ve had success in my current role! Then, challenge yourself with a more empowering thought, like: "I have the skills and experience to apply for this new role. I can actually grow even more!" We just need to flip the script in our head 3. Now, do this: → Take each negative thought you wrote down → And replace it with a positive affirmation For example, if you wrote down: → I’m not good enough for that promotion change it to: → I’m capable of handling responsibilities, and I’m ready for the next step. Keep doing this each time a negative thought pops up. As we know, the more we practice, the easier it gets

Here’s how to strengthen it: The biggest driver of your emotional intelligence is self-awareness. Self-awareness is accurately recognizing & understanding your own emotions, thoughts, perceptions, strengths, identities, & more. Self-awareness exists on a spectrum & we are all on the journey to maximum depth. It starts with our surface or external self-awareness & ventures down to internal advanced self-awareness. Our surface or external self-awareness is how others recognize & understand (or perceive) us. Knowing how others perceive you makes social awareness & relationship management (2 of the 4 components of EQ) possible. If you don’t know how others see you, it’s difficult to understand how you fit into the dynamics of a group & how your actions, words, etc. might affect others. This is one of the main causes of leaders having inappropriate behavior & communication. Next, we have our inner substance & roots/origins that comprise our self-awareness scale (beginner to advanced). Ideal state? Your self-awareness matches how you’re perceived by others. This is how you build & maintain your authenticity & credibility. Use this quick guide to explore all 3 levels of self-awareness & use the below tips for improving each (you probably need to save this post). For improving external self-awareness: 1️⃣ Be open, curious about, & receptive to feedback from others. 2️⃣ Observe others’ reactions to you (hesitation / coldness could be a sign of their uncertainty about you). 3️⃣ Consult a few trusted friends/mentors about how they see you. 4️⃣ Reflect on your actions, words, & decisions, confirming they match your true values, feelings, thoughts, etc. 5️⃣ Use all of your learnings as opportunities to be more visibly-you. For reaching maximum depth internal self-awareness: → Journaling → Practicing meditation → Attending talk therapy → Recognizing & naming your emotions → Reflection & critical thinking “The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.” – Joseph Campbell And even more so, being the authentic leader you were meant to be & that your team & company deserve.

Stewart Life Coaching shared thisThe Resilience Lamp How did I build resilience? I think my resilience comes from sports. Especially from ages 9 to 18, when I played sports. But it wasn’t just the sport itself. It was how I approached the post-race moments. Let me tell you a story. And share the 6 questions I asked myself after a bad race I’ll break it down into 3 steps. 1. So, from 9 to 18, I did sports At a pretty high level. And of course, you have good races and bad ones. At first, after a bad race, I used to feel bad — really bad. You know, in sports, you need two main ingredients: → Talent → Discipline I’ve never been extremely talented — probably an 8 out of 10. But I’ve always had a strong 9.5 in terms of discipline. So, when you sacrifice everything and have bad races, you feel bad. Of course. But in the last 3 years, from 15 to 18, something changed. After each race, I started to ask myself six questions. What questions? 2. Here are the 6 questions (3+3): 1. What went wrong? 2. What can I learn from that? 3. Based on what I’ve learned, what simple action can I take to improve? 4. What went well? 5. What can I learn from that? 6. Based on what I’ve learned, what simple action can I take to improve even more? Let’s see a basic example. 3. Imagine it’s a couple of hours after a race. Here are six potential answers: 1. I forgot to drink enough and eat healthily in the past few days 2. Lesson: Drinking plenty of fluids and eating healthy really matters 3. I wanna create a list of what I need to drink and eat in the 3 days before the race 4. I prepared very well mentally for the race 5. Lesson: Visualization really helps to face the race with more confidence 6. I wanna start visualizing the race 3-4 days before the event, not just the day before I think those post-races, especially from ages 15 to 18, helped me: → Build resilience → Learn how to deal with ups and downs → Create a framework to face tough situations
