I'm took this moment for writtten because it's incredible: How many companies don't have a DRP (Disaster and recovery plan). How many DBA's don't test theirs backups with a few yearly frequent? and when crash db arrived the only solutions (thinked for a few directors) is contract to consultant because needs a miracle and fire the current DBA (when most of the time he was not directly responsible for that failed strategy). When this happens, I ask myself: Wouldn't it be easier to prevent? To plan? And if failures arise, to be confident that my team has the capacity to resolve them without resorting to third parties?. Once again the key is the DRP a good DRP. To those reading this: Allocating budget for "other" annual improvements (performance, security patching, etc.) can become negligence (on the part of decision-makers) if you don't have a good DRP. The prevention is the Key!

ANY answer to this question is bad. Just in a different way. Why? Because the state is stored in the cloud. The cloud is the only authoritative source of the state. We pretend otherwise. And storing two equally authoritative sources of truth in two very different places is a bad design and bad idea. But here we are.
