The Superlative Bobcats have not only supported the program from a funding perspective, but have also been very gracious to work with current students on revenue generation projects that allow them to grow in both educational and professional aspects. Crypto.com Arena ($700 million for 20 years) is the biggest. 3. Coors Field (estimated at $1 million annually) is the best bargain. (See https://lnkd.in/gs3CVjF7.) 4. Enron Field (in 2000 at $100 million) is the most scandalous. (Astros had to pay $2.1 million for the rights to rename it.) 5. Brands spend nearly $900 million annually on naming rights. (See https://lnkd.in/gGD3RRQR.) What is the return? Across the 129 naming rights studies conducted since 2019 we find the naming rights improve the effectiveness of marketing, media, and venue assets as much as 3.4 X compared to sponsorships without any entitlement. Average partner recall for naming rights partners is 86% among all fans and 89% for season ticket holders. That compares to 40% average recall for sponsors with no entitlements, a 2.15X gain. I am endlessly grateful for the mentors who have invested in me over the years; there are so many of you! The San Diego expansion—already financed and slated for 2025 launch—chose tribal land for its academy infrastructure. This moves the negotiation upstream: sovereignty considerations now sit inside stadium and training venue decisions, not beside them. The precedent matters more than the square footage. The read: Expansion teams typically follow the path of least resistance for real estate. This one walked toward complexity, which means the tribe negotiated leverage and the MLS wants an established operator in a soft market. What I'm watching: The naming rights and kit sponsor announcements. Tribal nation visibility in jersey placement or stadium signage would indicate a deeper community partnership than real estate lease.
