Scott Rachford posted thisI'm honored to share that I'm stepping into the role of CEO at GuidePoint Security, with Mike Volk transitioning to Executive Chairman. Over the past decade-plus, I've had the opportunity to work alongside incredible teams, clients, and partners. I've seen firsthand what makes this company different: deep technical expertise, real relationships, and a relentless focus on doing right by the people we serve. It's the standard that has kept me here, and it's the one I'll hold myself to as CEO. Thank you, Michael Volk for your vision and leadership. GuidePoint is what it is today because of what you and the team have built, and I'm proud to help carry that forward.

Scott Rachford reposted thisOne of the most interesting changes in cybersecurity right now is how cyber risk management is becoming a business conversation, not just a security conversation. The new 2026 State of Cyber Risk Management Report from the FAIR Institute and GuidePoint Security shares insights from 400 cyber risk leaders and practitioners on what's helping organizations move from measuring risk to taking action. Take a look at the findings: https://okt.to/ebmisP #GRC #cyberriskmanagement

Scott Rachford reposted thisScott Rachford reposted thisThere’s a lot of noise around AI risk right now, but one point from Gary Brickhouse, CISO at GuidePoint Security, in this Forbes CIO newsletter really stood out to me: security fundamentals and resiliency still matter more than ever. Not only is Gary spitting facts but he also talks about how CISOs are balancing pressure to move fast on AI adoption while still trying to maintain visibility, control and recovery readiness across increasingly complex environments. His perspective on resiliency, especially around autonomous agents and recovery planning, is worth paying attention to. Good read for anyone thinking through AI governance, cyber resiliency and risk management in real-world environments. https://okt.to/h4iAIT

My students can expect engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that help them connect our shared past to today’s global challenges. I am passionate about cultivating historical thinking, critical analysis, and also cultural empathy while preparing students for success on the AP World History Exam, the New York State Regents Exam, and life beyond. This year’s classroom motto is ‘Ad meliora, nemine relicto”, ever better with no one left behind. I chose this motto in honor of my alma mater, the University of Rochester, and the core values of the US Marine Corps - two incredible organizations that teach team building and integrity with excellence. I aim to walk out our lessons each day fueled by this spirit and will share it widely with students throughout the year.

Scott Rachford liked thisScott Rachford liked thisAn important take-away in the GRIT Q2 2026 Ransomware & Cyber Threats Report isn't that AI is making ransomware possible—it's that AI is making threat actors more productive. The latest GRIT report shows AI is helping attackers reduce the time and effort required for reconnaissance, analyzing stolen data and conducting negotiations—not by inventing entirely new attacks, but by making established operations more efficient. That shift may be incremental, but it's changing the economics of ransomware. Learn how AI is influencing today's threat landscape. https://okt.to/HFnj6h #ThreatIntelligence #RansomwareTrends

Larry Slusser, Vice President of Strategy at SixMap, Inc., shared observations on why external exposure often goes unchecked during growth and organizational change. He notes that automated asset discovery methods relying on DNS and WHOIS data produce incomplete or inaccurate views of an organization’s external attack surface. Security gaps, he said, tend to emerge not from missing strategy, but from overlooked execution details: 🛡️ During mergers and rapid expansion, domain, IP, and cloud asset ownership is often insufficiently validated 🛡️ Agentless discovery methods based on DNS and WHOIS can produce incomplete or misleading visibility 🛡️ Legacy external scanning tools struggle at enterprise scale, generating noise without improving decision clarity These patterns help explain why externally facing risks continue to surface, even as organizations deploy more security tools. Blue Mantis has launched Mantis Protect - a fully managed cybersecurity service built to give midmarket IT leaders enterprise-grade defenses without the cost of running their own SOC. Jay Martin, CISO of Blue Mantis says, “Our focus was building something for the midmarket, where security, IT operations, and compliance intersect. Mantis Protect goes beyond detection and response, providing unified and predictive services that help organizations protect smarter and operate stronger.” With roots in managed services since 2009, Blue Mantis brings the credibility of both an MSP and an MSSP to bridge cybersecurity, GRC, and IT operations. #Cybersecurity #MSSP #ManagedServices #Midmarket #AI https://lnkd.in/eAe7BWYj
