Especially when driving on short trips. However once they are fully warmed up this decrease is hardly noticeable. And certainly no where near this 40% figure stated by AAA. No different than when you start a gas powered car on a cold morning and the engine idles higher than normal for a few minutes. Your MPG will take a significant hit for short trips in a cold vehicle.

Ryan Frye liked thisRyan Frye liked this𝗔 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 I recently refreshed my LinkedIn profile to better reflect the unconventional path I have been building over the past year. After leaving Corporate America, I invested more deeply in my own creative pursuits and founded Douglas Michael Studio LLC. Since then, my digital illustrations have been featured in galleries, generated meaningful online sales, and evolved into original commercial products with trademark protection pursued through the USPTO. Candidly, the transition was not easy. It brought uncertainty about my direction, my finances, and what building an independent career could realistically look like. But it also created space to reconsider where I wanted to invest my talent, energy, and experience. During that time, I strengthened my connection to the community around me. I graduated from the Michigan Pride Chamber of Commerce’s 12-week Queer Equity Impact Program, continued serving the organization through board leadership, and helped lead the effort to bring the Stonewall Sports National Tournament to Detroit, which will welcome more than 2,500 LGBTQ+ athletes and allies in July 2027. I also found a professional home in my own city at Leon & Lulu and Three Cats Restaurant, where creativity, hospitality, community engagement, and memorable experiences are central to the business. In my role as Marketing & Events Coordinator, I have the opportunity to bring together many of the things I do best: storytelling, partnerships, strategy, events, and connection. I am sharing this as both a personal update and an invitation. I have always thrived as a connector, especially when I can bring together people, organizations, and ideas rooted in shared purpose. The Grand Rapids brewery hopes the move will generate fresh consumer interest in one of its most storied beers, while testing whether its loyal fan base has an appetite for products beyond beer. The new KBS Bourbon is hitting store shelves this month and will be officially released in the brewery’s taproom on June 17. Founders has produced a limited release of 8,800, 750 ml bottles, which will be available in approximately 30 Michigan stores. The single barrel bourbon takes its name from KBS, formerly known as Kentucky Breakfast Stout, which Founders first released in 2001. Ryan Frye liked thisNearly 15 years ago, I transitioned careers into CRE and joined a new company. Like many employees eager to prove their value, I believed that underutilizing PTO for the first few years would signal commitment and my boss would take notice . . . and she did! About to go into the busy season again, my Director called before Q4 to notify me that I had been sitting on my maximum accrued days for some time, these days will not roll over into next year, and I should take a week off before things get hectic. Two weeks later I found myself on a beach in Barcelona on my first international solo trip. It was outside my comfort zone to travel internationally by myself at the time, but if this was my one trip this year then it had to count. I returned from Spain refreshed and followed this adventure with one of the best holiday leasing seasons of my career. Thank you Azalee Cole for encouraging me to take the time that allowed me to discover a love for international traveling. A little jet lag on Monday in the office is a small price for a lifetime of stories.Ryan Frye liked thisI read this quote and sent it to 3 people who needed it as much as I did. We stress too much for a life that can end at any time. Because how often do we let small things feel like emergencies? A delayed email response, deadline, or a meeting that didn't go as planned. In the moment, they feel massive. But zoom out a few months, and most of them disappear. Great post by my friend Gözde Imamoglu- give her a follow! So here are 5 questions I ask myself now when stress starts building: 1/ Will this matter in a year? Most things won't. If the answer is no, it doesn't deserve your nervous system today. 2/ Am I reacting to the situation or to my fear of what might happen? Often, we're stressed about a worst-case scenario that probably won't happen. 3/ What would I tell a friend in this exact situation? We're usually kinder and more rational when it's not about us. Use that perspective for yourself. 4/ Is this worth my health? Every stressful moment has a cost. Your sleep, your energy, your patience with people who matter. Is this worth spending it? 5/ What's one thing I can actually control right now? Stress often comes from trying to control everything. Pick one thing. Let the rest go. These questions don't make problems disappear. But they create space between you and your reaction. And in that space, you get to choose how you show up. Because every day you wake up is a chance to design a life that energizes you, not drains you. Don't wait for a crisis to remember that. P.S. Comment your favourite one below. Still happened so fast. Amelia is a phenomenal human being. Funny, sharp, kind, and all of it her own. And Mason is the funny, witty, charming young man I get to keep watching grow in his own middle and high school experience. Being a role model for both of them, showing them what a strong, intelligent, kind person looks like up close, has been everything to me. It’s the personal engine behind everything I do. The reason I build. The reason I show up. The reason I care so much about getting it right for the owners and candidates I work with. Amelia heads to college in the fall. Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to learn from talented professionals, develop my sales and communication skills, and gain valuable insight into the energy industry. I am especially thankful to my team and mentors who invested their time, guidance, and support in my growth both personally and professionally. While it is bittersweet to say goodbye, I am excited to announce that I will be starting a new chapter as a Recruiter with TEKsystems beginning June 8th. Brian Rexing, who was recently elected as the new Chairman of the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), tells Michigan Ag Today that the biggest policy issue facing America's dairy industry is the need for Farm Labor reform. “We probably need to educate a lot of the lawmakers in our area of what our workforce looks like. We are not seasonal. We are every season. We are 365 days a year, 7 days a week, and we need to skilled workforce, and that skilled labor takes time to train and we want this workforce safe,” said Rexing.
