Roy Foster liked thisRoy Foster liked thisToday I'm celebrating an anniversary of being one year cancer-free! Until now, I’ve only shared my story with people in person. In fact, it was hard not to share when I saw people because I had a rare tumor in my right eye socket. My battle with cancer was literally written all over my face. We discovered it in the summer of 2024, and my life changed immediately. After numerous treatments and surgeries with a world-class team of doctors, I have been cancer-free since May 2025. Miraculously, we were able to save my right eye, and I can still see out of it, but I have limited function due to lots of muscle and tissue damage. A very small price to pay for an otherwise clean bill of health. I have not traveled this road alone, and I wanted to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported me along the way. Some of my closest friends I made in advertising have been with me through it all. My friends, teammates, and colleagues at Yahoo could not have been more supportive. They gave me the space to heal and the ability to work with cancer when I wanted to work, which was equally as important to me. I intentionally waited for a moment like today to share more publicly. To celebrate a huge milestone. Crazy as it sounds, I’m truly thankful to have gone through this experience, and it has changed my life for the better. I look forward to enjoying the ride for many years to come, and sporting lots of fun new eyewear!

Bao Bao — aka "Bao Beezy," aka "The Prince," aka "Cheechy," aka "Wiggies" — turned 11 years old today. What does this have to do with work? Everything. In the past 11 years, there's been one constant. Through thousands of calls, good days, bad days, and everything in between, Bao Bao has been by my side through all of it. He was our first (fur) baby, and as we enter his later years, I'm treasuring every day with him like it could be the last. I've always chosen the harder road in my career — joined a super early startup in an extremely hard space, tried to buy a small business without any money, and started my own agency in that same hard space (outsourcing and staffing). What value can you place on a living being who exists just to cheer you up? I don't think you can. Thank you, Bao Bao, for 11 years of pure magic. We've seen a lot, added two actual babies to your crew, laughed, cried, and built a bond that changed my life forever. Someday I'll write a goodbye post — but not today. Let's keep walking.

Roy Foster liked thisRoy Foster liked thisBack in December, I had the chance to attend the first ever Yahoo DSP Academy Live in NYC: a two-day, hands-on learning experience with the Yahoo team and industry peers! It was incredibly valuable to step out of the day-to-day and go deeper on the platform - especially around predictive modeling and some of the newer agentic capabilities being rolled out - and connect in person, ask questions, and learn alongside others in a really collaborative setting. Huge thank you to the Yahoo team for being so welcoming throughout the experience. I left with not only new knowledge of the Y! DSP, but also new connections and friends both within Yahoo and in NYC. Also very appreciative of the team for making it a memorable trip, from Hamilton to refreshed headshots! Grateful to be part of the first Yahoo DSP Academy class and excited to put these learnings into practice. #Programmatic #YahooDSP #DigitalAdvertising
