The initiative, Reconnect Oneida County, will initially focus on attracting former residents back to the region, and the next phase will target remote workers from industries growing in the Mohawk Valley. MVCC's thINCubator is part of the initiative, offering co-working space right in downtown Utica.

Bob Fryer liked thisBob Fryer liked thisAs we pass the halfway point of 2026, I've been reflecting on what I've accomplished so far – and this has been the year of segmentations for me. Some in the industry shudder at that word. I lean in. So getting to run multiple segmentations in six months? That's a good year for me! The key to a successful segmentation is simple to say, hard to do: set clear intentions and objectives before a single question gets written. One project this year took a different approach. Instead of segmenting consumers first, we centered the study on the product – using a Max Diff exercise where each stimulus was a product image paired with key facts. The goal was to understand which product attributes actually drove appeal, then cluster consumers around those preferences. From there, the analysis followed a familiar path – comparing clusters across demographics, behaviors, and attitudes. But starting from the product instead of the person gave us a sharper, more actionable read on why consumers grouped the way they did. Thinking about a segmentation for your brand? Matt and I were roommates at New York University and fraternity brothers in Alpha Epsilon Pi (Alpha Chapter). Matt is a devoted husband to Raquel, a loving father to their three-year-old son, Tommy, a passionate Boston sports fan, and one of the hardest-working people I know. In April, Matt experienced a serious and unexpected medical emergency that has left him unable to return to work for the foreseeable future. As the primary income earner for his family, he is facing significant financial challenges while focusing on rehabilitation and rebuilding his strength. While Matt works toward recovery, Raquel is balancing the responsibilities of supporting her husband, caring for Tommy, and maintaining as much normalcy and stability as possible for their family. One of their priorities is ensuring that Tommy can continue to enjoy the routines and opportunities every child deserves. Anyone who knows Matt knows he is always willing to help others without hesitation. Today, his family needs the support of the community he has built through years of personal friendships and professional relationships. Friends and family have come together to create a GoFundMe to help provide financial support during this difficult period. Contributions will help ease the burden of everyday living expenses and provide stability for the family while Matt remains unable to work.
