Although limited by the fact that my kitchen thermometer did not read below 32 F, it is exciting to see that these cold blocks are able to maintain a temperature at or below freezing in a 77 F room for a full 20 minutes! #cannabis #cannabisindustry #cannabiscommunity #cannabisbusiness #analyticalchemistry #researchanddevelopment #residuals

Working through a residual solvents application I found a gap in products that were available to aid in keeping standards cold for sample prep. Sure the idea of a cold block has been around for a while, but currently available versions can only hold one size of vial. This means that you would have to buy multiple cold blocks to hold your different sized vials which is very expensive. My solution was to design and build my own version of a cold block. This solid aluminum design can hold a set of standard 1.5 mL HPLC vials, 4 mL liquid vials and 20 mL headspace vials giving you a single, temperature stabilized, station in which to prep volatile samples.
