Territorial Cup: Word Duel in the Desert is a game that pits ASU against UA in a battle for territory in Arizona, although this not the game of football…it is the game of words! Players will take turns making words from an Arizona shaped board of letters. Pick letters from ANYWHERE on the board to make a word and turn them into your color. Each letter is worth a point and whoever has the highest score at the end wins. The game ends when every letter has a color and the player that colors Arizona the most wins.

This project will be created in HTML5 and will be responsive (adjust to different screen sizes) using CSS3. The game will be networked and communicate with a backend that has a SQL database.

Our goal is to guide our group of students in an agile development environment to finishing their final group project and graduating from their programs, as well as to help them learn new and exciting technologies that they can use to get jobs when they graduate.

To help in their project we created a GitHub repository in order to help them learn about source control and work delegation. We also created a Windows Azure website which linked to the GitHub repository in order to provide them the ability to see their work in progress. Show less

Battlefleet is a turn based naval strategy game written for Android in HTML5 and JavaScript using PhoneGap. This game was developed for a class project in my CIS 430 Networks and Distributed Systems at ASU taught by Professor Matthew McCarthy. We were challenged to create any type of application that provided a seamless push of data from a server to a client, and Battlefleet was born.

Battlefleet is currently listed in the Google Play market and will be in the Apple App Store soon.
