Riley Collins shared thisRiley Collins shared thisI made this website for a school project on Racial Inequality of the Criminal Justice system during my sophomore year at the University of Maryland. This morning, I came back to it for the first time in a long while, realizing the information is still relevant, solutions still relevant, injustice still relevant, and the list of those exploited continues to grow. I share this because, although it hasn't been updated since I made it, (too) many of the points still stand. A quote from the "Solutions" section that stood out to me, "In hope for a brighter future, the value of youth is imperative to embrace... We must be the change within the system to provide for our community and inspire economic growth. We are bound personally to the cause, emotionally with passion. We must apply our education and intellectual ability to voice our arguments and change the reality of the system." If a 17 year old college student can clearly define steps in the right direction, why can't our country's leadership do it too? Enough is still enough. It lies on all of us. Together, we must do our part for a better tomorrow and not stop fighting until it's achieved.

Riley Collins shared thisRiley Collins shared thisAs of today, Dr. Shaquille O’Neal, Ed.D. is the joint owner of 155 Five Guys Burgers restaurants, 17 Auntie Annie's Pretzels restaurants, 150 car washes, 40 24-hour fitness centers, a shopping center, a movie theater, and several Las Vegas nightclubs. In addition to his business holdings, O'neal still earns $22 million per year (roughly $423,000 per week) from his endorsement deals with Arizona Creme soda, Icy Hot, Gold Bond, Buick, Zales, and at least a half dozen additional corporate sponsors. He is also a studio analyst for TNT. In Shaq's own words, "It is not about how much money you make. The question is are you educated enough to KEEP it." #MoreThanAnAthlete

Riley Collins shared thisPier 55, an iconic floating park above the Hudson River, is starting to take shape. The concrete supports, known as pots, will support this beautiful 2.4-acre park linked to Manhattan. There will be 132 pots in all, some 30 feet tall and weighing 90 tons. The $250 million project is finally underway with the installation of the first pots, a process that is expected to last through early 2020. #park #hudson #construction #architecture #urbandevelopment #beauty #manhattan https://lnkd.in/dFF4N6p https://lnkd.in/dJUAUKk

Riley Collins liked thisRiley Collins liked thisFive years in, and the #MiamiGP continues to deliver. This race weekend marked our fifth year as a partner, and we welcomed 150+ clients and prospective clients for an unforgettable few days in Miami. The momentum started early with a pre race gathering at Casa Neos, featuring former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya in conversation with Jennie Gow—a standout moment before the lights went out on Sunday.

Riley Collins liked thisRiley Collins liked thisA short (& true) horror story for anyone who is thinking about starting a company: I didn't take a single day off for the first 2 years of building beehiiv. And the day I finally did, GoDaddy almost killed the company. > I was in Cabo for a friend's bachelor party (very not sober) > First weekday not on my laptop in 2 years > Slack starts blowing up on my phone re customer’s websites not working > No one on the team could find a bug or figure out what the issue was > Turns out that one of our users sent a sketchy link that was flagged by the GoDaddy the security team > I missed the email from GoDaddy about the incident (I was playing beer pong) > GoDaddy suspended our entire account > Which also took down all of our customer’s websites > I sobered up pretty quickly and tried to get in contact with anyone from their team > Entire bachelor party went out to dinner without me, I was stuck on customer support with their overseas team > Started stalking everyone on LinkedIn who worked at GoDaddy > I sent an emergency email to all of our investors about the incident > At 2am I finally got through to someone on the phone who would unblock our account > We migrated off GoDaddy the next day Starting a company is the most rewarding thing you can do (in all senses of the word). It is equally the most terrifying and stressful thing you’ll ever do. No matter what the circumstance is, the buck stops with you. 2 big lessons for me through this episode: 1/ Know every point of failure in your stack. 2/ Never take a day off.

Riley Collins liked thisRiley Collins liked thisAngelList is going Institutional, and so am I :) So excited to announce that I am stepping into AngelList's (first ever!) Institutional Fund Relations Lead role — a role that didn't exist when I joined, and one I've been building toward ever since. I'll be overseeing our new Institutional arm, built from the ground up to support the next generation of rockstar VC teams. The past two years have been a wild ride, and I wouldn't be here without the insanely talented team I get to build alongside every day. The GPs already on board tell me we're onto something big, and we're only getting started. The best investors I know didn't get into this to chase reconciliations. It's about backing great founders. We're building a platform that gets out of the way. More time for deal flow, less for data entry. If that hits, let's chat!

Riley Collins liked thisRiley Collins liked thisOver the last 3 months I've been building a new company at the intersection of AI + Consumer Health — Bo AI. While most AI startups are building in B2B. My goal is to build a product that improves the health and day to day quality of life for hundreds of millions of people across the world i.e. something my 65 y/o mom can use. I've been personally funding Bo, and plan to continue to do so. And I'm excited because I feel like the stars are aligning for me career-wise for a few reasons: 1. For the last 6 years I've worked at, advised, and built early stage tech startups. 2. Prior to tech, I worked in the NBA for the Washington Wizards for 4 years, got my Masters in Sports Management from Georgetown, and have always been huge into health and sports. 3. I've always wanted to do something in consumer. I've built a 500k+ following online (while not being an important CEO of a big company). I always felt like I just intuitively understand how to relate and speak to the masses. Now I'm combining everything I've learned and applying it to Bo AI. We've been in a private beta with 100 users for the last ~45 days and it's been going amazing. I'm excited to take on the challenge of building in consumer and will share more very soon! P.S. I'm looking to bring on mission driven A players to the team across engineering and marketing. If you want to get in touch or learn more about Bo, please shoot me a DM!

Riley Collins liked thisRiley Collins liked thistoday skio is joining Recharge. but we're not going anywhere. we're building the subscription platform that all brands deserve, together. when andrew and i agreed to take over ~2 years ago, skio was in a very different place. so we made big changes + placed unsexy bets (that paid off). we spent every dollar on product and support. no marketing team, no ads, no big sales org. we hopped on every merchant call, attacked every issue immediately, and used every "fuck skio" as an opportunity to improve. we listened better than anyone in the market, shipping small fixes daily that helped merchants grow vs big quarterly updates. merchants noticed. so did the team that built this category: recharge. on another timeline, i think we’d still be duking it out. but features started to matter less. data started to matter more. and nobody has more of it than recharge. so when the opportunity to chat with Oisin popped up, i walked in having no idea what to expect. even my best-case scenario would have been way off. i was blown away by the similarities in how we think, our approach to the space, and most importantly, how naturally we both galvanized around building for merchant outcomes. we spent our time together focused on one central question: could we serve merchants better together? yes (obviously). between us we support the largest + fastest growing + most innovative subscription brands on the planet. instead of wasting time chasing each other, we’re going to build something better, something that’ll drive subscriber acquisition, growth, and retention for the next decade. Something generational. to our merchants: you have my commitment that we'll keep (and hopefully improve on) that obsession that got you to choose us in the first place. but this is a 2-way relationship. hold us accountable. if you feel like we're slipping, dm me. obsession's the ingredient that matters most in keeping the skio magic alive. to our team: i can't possibly put into words how much gratitude, respect, and appreciation i have for you all. you've shown up every day, given more than 100%, and set a new standard for how to build + service saas in the shopify space. we're just one chapter into what's going to be a hell of a story. and to the folks at recharge: let's get to work.

Riley Collins liked thisRiley Collins liked thisI wanted to take a moment to reflect on the Father William J. Watters Award Dinner honoring the Honorable Kurt L. Schmoke. As Chair of Advancement for the Board, I was grateful for the opportunity to share what The Loyola School means to me, help introduce the evening’s festivities in honor of Kurt, and recognize two wonderful video tributes from David M Rubenstein and Cal Ripken Jr. I was also deeply moved by fellow Board Member Cam Newsome's remarks on the impact the nativity school model has had on his life and the role it has played in shaping the man he is today. I have been fortunate to benefit from a strong education from an early age through Calvert School and Loyola Blakefield, both of which helped shape the person I am today. That experience has made this work especially meaningful to me. At The Loyola School, we serve students from pre-K2 through fourth grade during some of the most formative years of their lives. During that time, we are helping to build strong habits, leadership skills, academic foundations, and the character needed to become well-rounded individuals. Over the past two years, since joining the Board and stepping into the role of Chair of Advancement, we have made meaningful progress under the leadership of James Fiore. That said, there is still important work ahead. In addition to our broader fundraising efforts, we have added 120 scholarships to support students at the school, representing real momentum as we work toward our long-term goals. We are also fortunate to have a matching gift from an anonymous benefactor of up to $300,000 through the rest of the year, meaning every dollar contributed will have twice the impact. For anyone interested in supporting our efforts to help shape the next generation of Baltimore, I have included a link below. A final thank you to Joseph Lombard for getting me involved in the school. I am grateful for his leadership and look forward to continuing to build alongside him and the rest of the team! https://lnkd.in/e96Xc2H7

The South Jersey real estate market of 2025 looks nothing like it did just a few years ago! 🏡 Remember when selling meant months of uncertainty, pricing guesswork, and that dreaded "sell-first-or-buy-first" dilemma? Those days are GONE. Three game-changing innovations are helping my Burlington and Camden County sellers win big: 1️⃣ AI-Powered Tools: From predictive pricing that recently helped my Cherry Hill client sell for $37K above traditional estimates, to virtual staging that doubled one Moorestown seller's online engagement. 2️⃣ Home Trade-In Programs: Imagine buying your new home FIRST, moving once, and never worrying about double mortgages. My Mount Laurel clients just did exactly that—stress-free transition with guaranteed backup security. 3️⃣ Competitive Cash Offers: Not just for distressed properties anymore! Near-market value, 7-day closings, and zero repairs. Perfect when timing matters more than squeezing out that last 3%. The most successful sellers are combining these strategies—using AI to optimize pricing, trade-ins for seamless transitions, and cash offers as backup security. Feeling overwhelmed by options? Let's find what works for YOUR unique situation. The right tools make all the difference between a good sale and a great one. Drop a comment or message me to discover which approach fits your 2025 move. No pressure—just straight talk about what's working right now in our local market. #RealEstateInnovation #SouthJerseyMarket #AIPoweredSelling #BurlingtonCounty #CamdenCounty
