Today I started my next role as Principal & Chief Information Officer at Corgan. And I really couldn't be more excited to write those words…! Getting here took nearly a full year — and honestly, it was WAY harder than I expected. Last summer, I stepped into a season I hadn't planned for. What followed was months of networking, interviews, near-misses, restarts, and more lunch & coffee meetings than I can count. IYKYK = if you've been through an executive search, you know: it takes more time, more effort, and yes...more luck than you might ever assume going in. But here's what I didn't expect:  Just how much goodness was packed into this past year. I got real time with my four (yep!) teenagers — the kind of daily, present parenting that a demanding career never really allows. I helped build and deliver Marching Band Halftime shows again as a “Band Dad.” I helped my in-laws prepare and sell their longtime home – a true marathon. I deepened my professional friendships, built a whole lot of new relationships, and was reminded over and over again how generous people can be — with unsolicited check-ins, referrals, introductions, free coffees, and encouragement exactly when I needed it…and for longer than I deserved. If you were one of those people: Thank You!!  YOU know who you are, and I won't forget it. And I’ll be returning the favor & paying it forward…. And through every twist and turn, my beautiful bride was there. Steady, encouraging, and always believing — on the good days and especially the hard ones. None of this happens without her...nor my wonderfully chaotic teens... Now, the next chapter: Corgan is a world-class architecture & design firm doing some of the most dynamic & important work anywhere — from the data centers powering the AI revolution to the airports connecting the world to the offices, healthcare & educational campuses that heal & educate the future. What impressed me most through this process wasn't just the work they do (oops, now it’s “we”!). It was watching how intentional Corgan's leaders are about building a phenomenal culture while growing globally. A rarity. All that was obvious this past week & today – my onboarding was high-quality, high-touch, thoughtful, and thorough. That doesn’t happen by accident – and it wasn’t just for me – since about 100 interns preceded me last month, plus lots of other new Corganites.  And it's exactly why this immediately feels like the right place — for now & the long haul. I am excited to share that Molariti was recently selected to participate in the National Cancer Institute's STEP program. As part of the program, we are conducting customer discovery interviews with clinicians, pathologists, lab directors, lab managers, and scientists to better understand real-world workflows, pain points, adoption barriers, and unmet needs around liquid-biopsy (blood) testing for cancer diagnostics. 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞. I don't. I think it's about making better connections. The most valuable introductions aren't transactional. They're the ones where two people create opportunities neither could have created on their own. Throughout my career, I've watched partnerships form, careers accelerate, businesses grow, and friendships develop because someone made the right introduction at the right time. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about why communities like AchieveCxO matter. We're living in a time when many leaders feel more connected digitally but more isolated professionally. The pace of change is accelerating. Organizations are evolving. Careers are being reinvented. And many executives are navigating significant challenges without a trusted peer group around them. That's why intentional communities matter. Not because people need another event. Not because they need another LinkedIn connection. Because they need meaningful relationships. The right conversation can spark an idea. The right introduction can create an opportunity. The right community can change the trajectory of a career, a company, or even a life. That's what excites me most about the work we do at AchieveCxO | Executive Community. Creating spaces where leaders can build relationships that matter. Most people think having a human approve an AI decision means the decision is safe. It does not. 👀 There is a term for what actually happens when humans rubber stamp AI outputs under time pressure. Automation bias. It is one of the most documented and underreported risks in enterprise AI right now. After 13 years and 200+ deployments, here is what I have learned about building genuine oversight into AI systems. The human reviewing an output needs three things to actually be in the loop. They need to understand what they are reviewing. They need the context to catch what the model gets wrong. And they need to be genuinely empowered to say no without institutional pressure to simply keep moving. Most organisations have none of those three in place. They have a signature process. That is not the same thing. Before any high-stakes AI output reaches a decision point in your organisation, ask these questions. ➡️ Does the person approving this understand the underlying data well enough to catch an error? ➡️ Is there time built in for genuine review or just enough time to click approve? ➡️ What happens if someone says no? Is that genuinely supported? If the answer to any of those is no… you do not have human oversight. You have automation bias with a human signature attached.
