I do not post often but this one is important to me. After a 42 year career, I recently informed my TriMark Board of Directors that after a transition period, I would retire to focus on my heath and larger goals in life. The time was right given we’re coming off a huge 2025, well ahead of Plan and continuing to beat our customer service metrics. And my CFO, James Noonan, is now ready and has my full support and the Board’s.
As part of our plan announced formally yesterday, I am delighted to stay on the Board to assist and see our plans continue to unfold. It is exactly the same CEO succession I made at CTI Foods to my elevate my longtime CFO, Tim Lalonde. I am very proud of both gentlemen, confident in their leadership and grateful to be a member of each Board.
Retiring is not easy even after the best of planning. Looking forward, saying goodbyes, feeling accountable, letting go and most of all saying endless thank yous to so many incredible people and partners.
There are so many paths to an impactful career…. Educator, First Responder, Public Servant, Production Lead, Service Manager, Researcher…the list goes on. In my case, I have been blessed 23 years ago to find a misunderstood, sometimes mismanaged CEO niche that when done right can do so much good. It is similar to working with the heroes on a large oil derrick to put out the fire so the well and production team can prosper again. Sometimes it takes extraordinary measures. It always involves building trust, clear accountability, teamwork, culture, upside-sharing and empowered, de-centralized decision-making. The latter is unusual in our business but so critical.
To all of my TriMark, CTI Foods, CP Foods, Brachs Confections, Ares Management, Oaktree Capital Management, Barings, Bayside Capital, Black Diamond Capital Management and North Texas Fellowship of Christian Athletes colleagues and partners….and so many others, thank you for the trust, commitment, teamwork, learnings and dedication. The past four weeks have been a blur and difficult to reach everyone while also fulfilling near term obligations. I am truly grateful and in the case of TriMark, CTI Foods and North Texas FCA, looking forward to continuing to provide support from the board level …. and retired life soon!
