I’ve done many events over the years and Riviera was exceptional. Networking with aspiring turf professionals as well as “seasoned veterans” (read: grey beards) is always re-energizing. PGA Tour Agronomist Thomas Bastis , Superintendent Marshall Dick and Assistants Tyler and Fabian lead the team under difficult weather conditions to a fantastic Tour event for the world to see. So very lucky to be invited and hope to go back in 2027!

Philip Rowe liked thisPhilip Rowe liked thisIt's ironic that when I was looking at school places for my 6 year old son, I was heavily focused on AI and technology and how the school would best prepare him for a digital future with jobs that were yet to be created. Now, I realise that was a complete mistake. Children don't need their developmental years defined by screen time and socialising via online games. In an AI saturated world, the best antidote isn't more code - it's grubby fingernails, muddy faces, ruddy cheeks, and the joy of exploring nature. Even though the original Matrix film was released well before social networking became a part of everyday life, it portrayed a future of human beings plugged into the AI, feeding code, oblivious to their true reality. As each day goes by, it becomes less sci-fi and more science fact. It's hard enough being an adult trying to navigate a fast changing landscape - for children it's an impossible maze. Whilst the UK’s Online Safety Act puts the emphasis on platforms to be accountable for Safety by Design, meaning that their algorithms should not be feeding our children harmful content, we as parents need to be better at self-regulating the environment that our kids grow up in - it’s too important to delegate or legislate. We as parents owe it to ourselves and each other to help our children choose the right path and help them find a true meaning and purpose in their life, and reclaim the childhood that they deserve. Technical skills can be learned later on in life. The core building blocks of human nature - the social intelligence, the inquisitiveness, and mental resilience - are formed in the dirt and the trees. The real advantage in life is our humanity, not our prompts. Soft skills never change - let's keep that sacred!

Philip Rowe liked thisPhilip Rowe liked thisFriends and colleagues, as you know, I have never marketed or intentionally sold myself in my career. Ever since I started working with high-profile athletes back in the 1980s, I made a decision to never publicly reveal my clients because I knew this could violate their trust in me. Too many athletes feel taken advantage of when their support network leverages their affiliations. That sentiment has extended over my entire career–I have devoted my work to client development and to their careers instead of advancing mine. In other words… *My publisher is making me do this!* I wrote a book that will be released in October. It’s called “One Day Better: Mental Performance Concepts to Transform Your Game and Life”. Why write this book and why now? It’s simple: Over nearly 40 years as a mental performance coach working with athletes of all ages and abilities, I’ve learned some interesting and useful information. At this point in my career, I want to share what I’ve learned so that these lessons don’t vanish when I some day exit the world of mental training. My fervent desire is for these lessons to be found useful by those who read them; mental coaches, athletic coaches, athletes, parents, everyday people. I’ll admit it: I do hope you’ll take a look at One Day Better and consider it for yourself, your teammates, your partners in sports, business, or life. It’s my hope that One Day Better can impact lives for the better. Check out my book here: https://lnkd.in/gUHrnkyJ If you like what you see and would like to purchase the book, I’ve asked my publisher to offer a discount for my friends, family, and colleagues. The code is ODB-EARLYBIRD and gets you 20% OFF the book during checkout. Feel free to share this with your network, too! Thank you for taking a look! Jeff Troesch

Sell PGA Headquarters? More PGA Members voluntarily Use PGA Golf Club Than PGA Headquarters A simple question deserves an honest answer: Which asset serves more PGA Members — PGA Golf Club or PGA Headquarters? PGA Members go to PGA Headquarters because they have to. Every year, PGA Members "voluntarily" travel to PGA Golf Club to compete, practice, attend events, connect with fellow professionals, and experience a facility built with PGA Members in mind.😁😁😁😁😁 By comparison, only a small percentage of PGA Members will ever spend meaningful time at PGA Headquarters and only because they have to.😡😡😡😡😡 That reality should matter when strategic decisions are made. If the PGA of America is considering major changes involving PGA Golf Club, PGA Members deserve complete transparency. Many members have invested their time, money, careers, and even purchased homes in the surrounding community based on long-standing commitments and promises connected to the facility. Before any discussion about selling, downsizing, or changing the mission of PGA Golf Club, PGA Members should know: • How many members voluntarily use PGA Golf Club annually? • How many members voluntarily use PGA Headquarters annually? • What are the full financial costs and benefits of each? • How does each asset improve the compensation, career opportunities, and quality of life of PGA Members? The PGA of America exists because of PGA Members. When evaluating assets, programs, and priorities, the question shouldn't be: "What's best for headquarters?" The question should be: "What's best for PGA Members?" Because the members are not the support system for the organization. The organization is supposed to be the support system for PGA Members. Sell PGA Headquarters and move to an office building in South Florida.

Coaches: use this quick checklist to spot Reactive Fueling during tournaments and apply three low-friction fixes that keep athletes consistent and reduce mid-event fatigue. 1) Signs to watch: repeated energy dips, overreliance on sugary snacks, and inconsistent intake between sessions. Each step maps to SN2Go’s Fueling Zones to reduce performance-limiting mismatches and protect training consistency.
