Patrick Macomber posted this2026 Energy: Every opportunity is cool, until it’s uncool. If a pattern doesn’t suit you, break it. Solitude isn’t loneliness if it’s intentional. Flow states can be both positive and negative. Good vibes are a choice. Write good and you’ll design better. Design good and you’ll sell more. Sell more and you’ll question your principles. Just don’t forfeit them. AI, it’s a thing, huh? It’s like canva vs adobe. Quark vs indesign. Paste up vs computers. Setting type vs computer fonts. Use it or don’t. But It’ll never replace your point of view. If you don’t have a point of view, yes you do. Quality is an increasingly rare attribute. The side gig is worth it. Our best is all we can do. Never mistake an alarmingly cool person for a creative director. What a gift it is to take care of your parents. What a burden it is to feel obligated. If it ain’t broke, it’s probably good to service it. If it ain’t serviceable it’s probably a good idea to get a new one (in matters of toasters, roofs, and jobs or careers). Take the long route. Convenience is mostly a scam. Or at the very least, a luxury for the uninitiated. It’s almost always better if you do, make, harvest, craft it for yourself. Otherwise, pay for the good sh*t.
