Jesse Norton liked thisJesse Norton liked thisToday marks 12 months at DNL—a great milestone and an opportunity to reflect on what has been an incredibly rewarding year. It’s been a year filled with challenge, growth and opportunities to make a meaningful impact. Some highlights include: • Acting as Head of Tax for four months, leading the tax function through a significant period of change. • Leading and developing a talented tax team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. • Delivering several complex transactions, including strategic projects requiring strong technical and commercial judgement. • Strengthening our tax governance framework and contributing to an improved governance rating. • Building strong partnerships across the business to deliver practical, commercially focused tax advice while managing risk effectively. The past year has reinforced that leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating clarity, empowering people, making thoughtful decisions and staying focused when navigating complexity. I’m grateful to the leaders, mentors and colleagues at DNL who continue to challenge, support and inspire me every day. The progress we’ve made has been a collective effort, and I’m excited to continue building on this momentum in the years ahead. Matt joined SThree in 1996 and has spent nearly 30 years with the business, progressing through a series of commercial leadership roles across the group. He has served as Managing Director for the APAC region, has led our UK business and was Executive Vice President of Commercial Operations, before most recently leading our US business as President of Specialist Staffing Group, where he led the return of our most enterprise-focused market to growth. Through these roles he has led teams across highly competitive STEM markets spanning engineering, life sciences, and technology. As EVP of Commercial Operations, he co-developed our Technology Improvement Programme, which reshaped the way our teams work across every market. I am excited to share that Aspen Neuroscience is expanding our Surgical Operations Team under the leadership of David Martin. We are currently looking to fill four founding field roles that offer high ownership and direct relationships with leading investigators in the field of functional neurosurgery. As Senior Clinical Specialists (Field-based), you will be responsible for leading the surgical delivery of a first-in-class autologous cell therapy for Parkinson's disease. We seek individuals with experience in intraoperative coverage at leading academic centers, particularly in a Phase 3 multi-center trial. Candidates should have experience in developing cross-platform stereotactic workflows and surgeon training, as well as multi-center trial field operations, including site coordination, protocol execution, and cross-functional support across a growing investigator network. An ideal background includes experience in DBS, laser ablation, cranial robotics, iMRI, or image-guided stereotactic procedures. Comfort operating in early-stage environments and/or clinical trial experience is also essential. Initially, we are targeting the Great Lakes and Mountain West territories, with plans for expansion across the Southeast, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions. Jesse Norton liked thisJesse Norton liked this11+ years with one company. Almost unheard of these days… and honestly, 2015 me would be very surprised. Cue the throwback photo: bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, ready to take on the world… with zero clue what recruitment actually was and definitely no experience in biotech/medical device. Visiting my alma mater SDSU to be a guest speaker for an HR class on what the recruitment industry is😅 If you had told me then I’d still be here 11 years later, I probably would’ve laughed. But in reality? It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I joined Real Specialist Staffing Group in 2015 and had the opportunity to co-found our Direct Hire division in San Diego—getting to build something from the ground up has been equal parts challenging, rewarding, and incredibly fun. A lot can happen in 11 years… -8 promotions -3 Team of the Year wins -3 Director of the Year awards -Trips across the globe (New York, Scotland, Chicago, Houston, SF, Mexico, Miami…not complaining) -Watching our office grow from 6 to 75 people -Launching a full West Coast direct hire service across medical device & biotech -Growing our team from 2 to 15+ -Partnering with 200+ clients across California …and most importantly, having a front-row seat to companies doing truly life-changing work—improving quality of life and even saving lives. That never gets old. But the biggest highlight? The people. I’ve been lucky to work alongside some of the best—people who challenge you, support you, celebrate wins with you, and make even the hardest days worth it. I’ve grown more than I ever expected and learned something new every single day.
