So here goes the laundry list: - Thrilled that Industrious has found the best partner for the future we could ever ask for in CBRE. This means we have the wind in our sails to do great things for many decades to come, something I know is so rare for any startup to achieve. - Beyond proud of our entire team, past and present. My mom always told me that you don't have high highs in life without low lows, and we've certainly had both. Never have I worked with a kinder, sharper, more humble, goofier bunch, and I wouldn't have it any other way. - Grateful for our members, customers, and landlord partners. You have a choice about who you work with, and I don't take for granted for a second that you've chosen us (and invite you to keep pushing us to be better and better.) - Pumped about new product development on our horizon and what our two companies can do together. With our powers combined...cue the Captain Planet music. - In awe of Jamie Hodari and Justin Stewart. I've watched you two bring Industrious to life, navigate the stormy seas of co-foundership, and somehow, 12 years later, remain the best of friends. Thank you for being role models for me, and for all of us. - Honored to take on my new role as President and grow into this new chapter with our amazing team. - A little tired. 6 months pregnant in a sprint like this is no joke! It's hard for me to remember exactly why I turned Jamie down the first few times he pitched me on a role at Industrious, but joining the team has been without a doubt the second best decision I've made in my life (Eytan Kurshan, you'll always be #1.) Accept that not everyone will or can stay for the long term 2. Most in your network will back and support your journey 3. Remember, it’s your timeline and not someone else’s 4. Give your team opportunities to grow and they will 5. It won’t be easy and a lot harder than you think 6. Seeing year-on-year profit is very satisfying 7. Stay positive, even when it’s really hard 8. Getting acquired is just a distraction 9. Sadly, clients are not created equal 10. Ignore those who hope you fail 11. Bad decisions are inevitable 12. Learn to say ‘no’ a lot more 13. Hire an accountant sooner 14. Understand bad revenue 15. Choose advisors wisely 16. Keep bootstrapping 17. Just enjoy the ride The past year has been transformational Getting clients featured in everything from Bloomberg to TechCrunch to BBC Continuing to invest in our team, and seeing them grow and flourish People often ask: 'What's the best part of running a company?'
