But without 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 and 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, even the strongest operations teams face unnecessary strain. 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀. Facilitron has released the first 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 for Community Use of K–12 Public School Facilities — a comprehensive governance framework designed to modernize how districts manage public access. Across the country, we consistently see: • Inconsistent approvals across campuses • Informal fee waivers that quietly subsidize use • Insurance and compliance gaps • Limited leadership visibility into facility activity • Growing operational strain during funding shortfalls These aren’t scheduling problems. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀. The Facilitron National Model provides a 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 that aligns: ✔ 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ✔ 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 ✔ 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ✔ 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 ✔ 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 This is more than policy language. It is an implementable governance system districts can adopt, adapt, and operationalize — creating equitable access, reducing liability exposure, protecting instructional resources, and strengthening public trust. Nikki Kim shared thisIn 7th grade, my best friend and I went to Home Depot and snagged 100 paint swatches to create a DIY garland we found on Pinterest. To this day we still use Pinterest to inspire our activities when we get together. Early in college, I attended a makers' fair at Pinterest HQ and fell in love with the creative energy that the company embodies. The following year, I had the opportunity to tour Pinterest HQ with other students and met amazing people including Alex Sola-Guinto and Hannah Scott. That day, I discovered a profound admiration for Pinterest's active effort to bring everyone the inspiration to put down their phones and go into the world creating a life they love. Today, I feel extremely thankful to be starting my full-time role as a Recruiting Coordinator at Pinterest! A huge thank you to Alex Sola-Guinto for your mentorship and encouragement and JP Rastrullo for your support from the very beginning. Thank you Monica Climaco (she/her) and the rest of my team for already giving me such a warm welcome to Pinterest. This scene of our over 200-year-old building covered in snow will always be my favorite view on campus. Yes, I will miss the winters in Maine! My time as Assistant Head of School was full of energy and new experiences. Overseeing school counseling, special education, and academics while also teaching one class a semester through Thomas College gave me challenges to help tackle and puzzles to help solve. The greatest joy has been watching students, teachers, and staff alike grow, take risks, and have the courage to road test a new thought, practice, assessment, or procedure and then iterate until it is excellent in their eyes. It has been a privilege to represent WA to our community partners, agents, vendors, and colleagues in other institutions, in many ways growing my network and increasing my ability to be of service to our industry. Being part of a town academy has given me opportunities from such a broad spectrum that this position has become an invaluable and irreplaceable gift. I'm privileged to have learned so much and look forward to my next chapter in Los Olivos!

Nikki Kim liked thisNikki Kim liked thisWe are delighted to share that Marginal Landscape Art: Water, Seepage, Participation, Taiwan is now on view at Complutense University of Madrid. This exhibition brings together nearly a decade of Ground Zero Studio’s artistic practice, exploring how local memory, food culture, archives, and participatory art can become tools for understanding place and public life. The exhibition is structured around four concepts: Water — movement and the formation of place. Seepage — the ways memory and history permeate everyday life. Participation — exchange, collaboration, and collective storytelling. Taiwan — the cultural and historical context from which these practices emerge. One of the most unexpected parts of preparing this exhibition happened outside the gallery. While walking through Madrid, we found a discarded map and a globe without its world. These forgotten objects became part of our research process and eventually entered the exhibition itself. Much like the rivers, markets, night markets, old houses, and food memories that appear throughout our work in Taiwan, these objects reveal traces of how cities are shaped, inhabited, remembered, and sometimes forgotten. For us, Marginal Landscape Art is not only about overlooked spaces. It is also about the overlooked stories, objects, memories, and relationships that continue to shape everyday life.
