I was learning about disputes and chargebacks and how friendly fraud is quietly annihilating small and mid-sized merchants in the United States. What hit me wasn't the existence of the problem. It was the unmistakable feeling that the system does not do enough to protect merchants in the age of card-not-present e-commerce transactions. Now agentic commerce is here. AI agents are starting to discover, recommend, and transact on behalf of consumers. The protocols, the liability model, the evidence standards, all of it is being written right now. And the same merchants who got flattened by friendly fraud are about to get flattened again, unless someone builds the infrastructure that gives them a seat at the table. Today we're coming out of stealth. A-Comm is intelligence and infrastructure for merchant enablement in agentic commerce. Traditional reporting engines like Power BI fell short, creating one-off reports that were time-consuming to generate and failed to meet diverse user needs. In response, the bank turned to Genie, a generative AI platform tailored for financial institutions. Genie's intuitive interface empowered non-technical team members across sales, finance, marketing, and data teams to access and analyze data effectively. By unifying segregated data sets and offering enhanced data aggregation capabilities, Genie streamlined operations and provided valuable insights into client behaviors, loan opportunities, and marketing strategies. Security was paramount for the bank, and Genie's on-premise solution, coupled with SOC II compliance and robust permission controls, ensured data confidentiality and regulatory compliance. "We are currently focused more on operationalizing the data and helping with business problems on that front" noted a user from the bank. In the words of a Genie user, "Power BI reports were kind of one offs and hard to generate…Our end users are ready to consume data." Genie not only addressed reporting challenges but also empowered end users to harness the full potential of data, driving the bank's success in a rapidly evolving financial landscape. Back in November 2025, I could not let go of the fact merchants, especially SMBs, get annihilated by disputes and chargebacks that cost more to fight than they are worth to win. Those problems do not disappear in agentic commerce. They multiply. So, I spent months of 12+ hr days, packets of dry erase markers and sticky notes, and endless nights trying to figure out how we can skate ahead of the inevitable “I didn’t authorize that” agentic challenge. This led to the open source Apache 2.0 A-Comm Evidence Protocol (AEP). The thesis is simple. For agentic commerce to scale, it needs to be observable, traceable, and auditable. The timing is not an accident. As the holidays approach, agents will be booking, buying, and negotiating for us more than ever. We need a standard way to prove what actually happened when they do. AEP does not compete with any other protocol. It creates subwrappers that capture each protocol used across the transaction lifecycle and preserve it as evidence, so the full journey can be verified later. We are publishing the latest draft July 13 under Apache 2.0, with 30 days of public comment. The ecosystem needs your feedback. Keep an eye out for the link this Monday. Claims that took months now take weeks. Underwriting is automated. Fraud detection runs on machine learning. Sounds efficient. It is efficient. But insurers said something quieter out loud too: this industry carries "unlimited downside risk." A bad AI call isn't just a bad quarter for a company. It's a denied claim for a family that needed the payout. It's a policy priced out of reach for someone in a flood zone. Climate risk is already pushing people out of coverage. Add opaque AI pricing on top, and working families get squeezed twice. The good panels all said the same thing. Keep a human in the loop. Don't let a model's confidence replace judgment. Efficiency should serve policyholders. Not just shareholders. Nick Birnbaum liked thisNick Birnbaum liked thisSince I started diving into AI, especially after tools like OpenClaw appeared, my Twitter feed became flooded with success stories from developers building AI-driven systems for prediction markets. What caught my attention was how many of these systems were operating on-chain, with public wallets and verifiable results. Some of the equity curves were simply incredible. At the same time, prediction markets have been growing at an impressive pace. Even at Forex industry events, conversations are increasingly shifting toward how brokers can expand into prediction markets. For the last five months, I've been studying the wallets that made it. Analyzing data, researching strategies, and looking for common patterns among traders who consistently generate returns. The goal was simple: understand what works, and eventually have my own wallets become part of those studies. Today, I have several systems with exceptional backtest results that have also held up in forward testing. They are no longer just ideas on paper. They are operating exactly as designed and are, in my view, only one step away from becoming a live reality. The challenge is execution. In prediction markets, having an edge is not enough. You need to capture it. The latest Polymarket API architecture can sometimes introduce enough latency for orders to be filled at significantly worse prices. When you're targeting small but repeatable advantages, a single second can make all the difference. The next phase is focused on infrastructure and execution quality: deploying servers closer to the exchange infrastructure, optimizing networking, and porting critical components from Python to Rust to gain every possible millisecond. After five months of research, development, testing, and iteration, I feel closer than ever. The models work. The logic works. The forward tests work. Here's the thing about reconciliation - finding the break isn't the problem. Every team has automated that. Congratulations, you know something is wrong. What nobody has figured out is what comes next. Which side is wrong? Is the exchange overstating? Are your books missing something? Is the custodian just being dramatic again? Most systems will tell you an amount is breaking. Maybe an account number if you're lucky. But which trade? Out of 20 at the same price - which specific one is the problem? And why did it break? The automation tells you something is wrong. It does not tell you what. It does not tell you who. It clocks out. You do not. The agent I built skips that part. For trade breaks - it maps back to the original order, identifies the exact trade, and gives you the root cause. Not just "something broke" but why. For cash and margin breaks - it tells you what's actually making up the break balance. Because cash breaks don't have one cause. They have several. All happening at the same time. All arguing about who started it. If you know, you know. And for breaks that don't resolve overnight? It tracks them. Flags them. Because breaks compound. And compounding breaks have a way of becoming someone's very bad quarter. All of this across multiple data sources - including one most reconciliation systems don't even look at. No guessing. No hunting. No clocking out. This is one of several agents I'm building. The international measure of creditworthiness of the United States Treasury is traded every day in the credit default swap market. That metric is international, and the size of the market is measured in the trillions. Since the Lisa Cook affair broke into the headlines, the pricing of CDS on the United States has risen in all tenors from 1 year to 10 years. (CDS tenors do not extend beyond 10 years.)
