Nichole Langley reposted thisRecruiters want 20 year olds with +10 years experience. I helped a candidate aged +50 get hired in 1 month. Here's what convinced the interviewer she was perfect: 1) She arrived early, 2) Her attitude was positive & smiling towards everyone, 3) She highlighted all of her advantages as a senior: 🔹No money is wasted on training her, 🔹She has a large industry network of decisionmakers, 🔹Her experience can save costly mistakes, To all recruiters out there, You wouldn't call own mother to say: "Sorry, but you're too old now, so you're out of my life." Stop only looking for "weaknesses". Start focusing on the candidate's strenghts and character. It's time to put the "human" back into Human Recource(HR)! Agree? 🙏

Nichole Langley reposted thisNichole Langley reposted thisThe cheque for mental-health care has to come from somewhere, so I made a quick list of who might pay and why they usually don’t. ↳ Consumers can pay out of pocket, except for the many that simply can’t. ↳ Governments could fund more, except for the fact that budgets move way too slowly ↳ Charities help, but can’t help everyone. ↳ Insurers talk about long-term savings, but their horizon resets each plan year. ↳ Employers would benefit the most through fewer sick days, lower turnover, and better performance. If that payoff is so clear, why does a company still spend more on sales training than on therapy stipends? I suspect it has to do with the fact that a training workshop promises “better sales next quarter,” while the mental-health ROI feels fuzzy to a CFO. We can tighten those numbers: track absence days, retention, health-care spend, and team outcomes before and after proper support. Put hard metrics next to the human ones and the funding conversation changes. Quick but necessary caveat: I don’t believe access to mental-health care should depend on your job, or that people deserve care only to be more productive at work. But if employer budgets are the fastest dollars on the table right now, I’m pragmatic enough to chase them. We need every route we can find to fund the care folks need.

It can feel risky to hire someone with an extensive resume, especially for a middle management or entry level role. 👓 Look beyond the check boxes and automated screening tools; what can they bring to the team that isn't explicitly on their resume? Sometimes they are looking for purpose, flexibility, or a healthy culture, not just a fancy title.

I was challenged in ways that I hadn't expected, put in situations that made me uncomfortable and even changed my thinking at times. Moreso, my personhood was affirmed, finding like-minded people who wanted to pour good into the world. I found mentors and, now I know, some of the most influential leaders in my life who role modeled so many of the values I still hold today as I lead. My time at SUNY New Paltz was magnetic, and I could not be prouder to be recognized in the 2026 cohort of 40 Under 40! What an honor to be recognized! Nichole Langley reacted on thisSo long as mental health professionals hold the view that the elimination of negative emotions are the primary goals of mental wellness, clients will remain in therapy. Under this belief, we should all be in therapy for the rest of our lives, something that any thoughtful mental health professional knows is logistically impossible. Instead, what if we learned to accept painful emotions as woven into the fabric of a meaningful life? What if mental health providers embraced their own fears of releasing clients out of their care even while clients continue to notice painful inner experiences? What if it is therefore providers' own fears that get in the way of more routine discharges and subsequent independent client flourishing?
