Lisa Ward liked thisLisa Ward liked thisSpent the afternoon at the retirement ceremony for Col Jim Cardoso, who completed a stellar 30-year career as an Air Force Special Operations pilot. The guy's a real hero who went into harm's way risking his own life to sucessfully rescue a downed pilot. He also just happens to be the best commander I ever had in my chaotic, 24-year military career. Was an honor working as his Operations Officer at AFROTC Det 158. Having his wife speak at the ceremony and culminating the event with a toast and remembrance of fallen warriors were unique touches of pure class. His advice to the cadets was simple: "Don't Suck!" -- you'd be surprised how far you can get following just that. I'm sure he'll continue to do great things - kinda hard to stop a 3-decade habit of unparalleled excellence.

Children
It is a program where individuals can sign up to mentor and hang out with children who do not get much exposure to the world. We spend as much time as needed to make sure the child is enjoying the world while also building a good relationship and becoming a mentor in the process.
It is an eye opening experience and i encourage everyone to try it.

The First Four Council is an airmen ran organization at Edwards Air Force Base, that is consisted of primarily volunteers who want to provide opportunities for other airmen living on base to get out and experience their surroundings. The organization raised money through fundraisers and car washes to provide affordability to go on trips, host BBQs, improve dormitories and to host more fundraisers.

I prepped several items of food for families living in Metropolitan Ministries. This includes cutting vegetables, making sandwiches, and prepping drinks all to be served to family and children. Once meals are eaten, I transferred dirty dishes to the dish washer for further sanitizing and cleaning.
