“Mike was on an Engineering Team at a Meetup that I led for just under 2 years. During that time, I completely relied on Mike as the primary architect and leader of our business line's web platform, which he created from the ground up both leveraging platform work of other teams at Meetup as well as introducing numerous innovations and sharing them both upstream to the main web platform team and downstream to ours. He has been a mentor to our intern, as well as to another more junior talented engineer. Mike was quick to take responsibility for anything given to him, including new and difficult things such as navigating, doing discovery, and being an early adopter new technologies (webpack, react/redux, flow), modularizing tangled code & builds, troubleshooting our containerized production deployments, and helping us be the first product team to be on-call.
