Over the past five years, our partnership has grown more than 30x—a testament to the talent, dedication, and shared vision of the REPH and Elsevier Healthcare Education teams. During our time together, we had the opportunity to: ✔️ Assess the strength and maturity of our partnership ✔️ Explore emerging capabilities—including exciting new directions in AI ✔️ Deepen our alignment on how we’ll continue scaling impact for learners, educators, and institutions around the world What stood out most was the passion and professionalism of the current REPH Elsevier Healthcare Education team. Their commitment has been instrumental to our success, and our conversations—whether in working sessions, mentorship activities, or the Town Hall—left us inspired and grateful for what we have built together. Just wrapped up the Generative AI & Business Transformation program at Wharton Executive Education, and I’m walking away both inspired and challenged by how deeply AI is reshaping the way we work, create, and lead. Over the past week, we dove into the technologies, economics, and human dimensions of Generative AI, exploring its impact on strategy, operations, and ethics. From foundation models to agentic workflows, the conversations were thought-provoking and practical — anchored in real transformation stories across industries. A huge thank you to our incredible instructors — Professors Stefano Puntoni, Kartik Hosanagar, Ethan Mollick, Prasanna Tambe, Hamsa Bastani and Kevin Werbach — for their deep insights and engaging discussions. Special thanks also to my Elsevier colleagues and classmates, Sesha Bolisetty and TC Kong, for sharing this journey, and to new friends from around the world for the energy and ideas you brought to every session. As Professor Tambe highlighted, 82% of enterprise leaders now use GenAI weekly — up from just 37% two years ago (Wharton Human-AI Research and GBK Collective). This momentum is real, and programs like this one help us turn that momentum into meaningful business transformation. Mike Kuo reacted on thisMike Kuo reacted on thisI celebrated Wesley’s birthday at the Children’s Museum recently, and it was every bit as energetic, joyful and chaotic as you’d expect with about 15 five-year-olds running through four floors of hands-on activities. Seeing the museum through their eyes brought a fresh sense of wonder to the way science, health, technology and imagination can come together. The kids made different colored slime, shared pizza and cupcakes, and explored nearly every corner of the museum. For Wesley, the highlight may have been sitting in the “King for a Day” chair, but for me, the best part was watching curiosity come to life in real time. That same curiosity is something I try to bring into how I lead. Curious leaders stay open to new ideas, ask better questions, and create space for more productive conversations. When we’re genuinely interested in understanding the perspective on the other side, we can break down barriers and find stronger ways forward.

Mike Kuo liked thisMike Kuo liked thisElsevier's Clinician of the Future report showed something important: nurses are optimistic about what #AI can do for patient care, but that optimism depends on whether the technology is built for the realities of nursing. According to the report, 61% of nurses believe AI will improve care quality in the next 5 to 10 years, and 59% believe it will improve patient outcomes in the next 2 to 3 years. At the same time, fewer nurses (55%) than physicians (70%) believe AI will save them time in the near term. Nurses are managing high patient volumes, complex care needs, and significant administrative demands. For AI to be useful in practice, it needs to fit into their workflows, support clinical judgment, and reduce friction rather than add to it. We believe responsible innovation starts by listening to the people closest to care. Nurses’ experiences should shape how healthcare technology is designed, evaluated, and used from the beginning. 💡As sources of #RWD expand and use of #AI increases, the fundamental question for #ModernizationMonday ➡️ Are the data fit-for-use? ✔️ Objectives can be plentiful, across regulatory, clinical, patient, and policy decision-making 🟰 decision-grade evidence requires fit-for-use data. ✔️ The degree to which data are fit-for-use depends on the relevance of the data to the research question and the reliability of the data source for the proposed clinical study design. ✔️Data fitness can depend on a number of factors such as clinical setting, unmet medical need and available therapies, and meaningful interpretability of the proposed estimand. ✔️Studies should demonstrate internal validity and when feasible, external validity. But 𝘩𝘰𝘸 they achieve it. It’s about rewarding the right things: 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀. 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀. 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀. Because culture is not what we say.
