Taking a step back, I’m incredibly proud of the work we’re doing and the people I get to do it with. What started as a job years ago has turned into a career focused on building, evolving, and continuously improving services that truly matter. We’re not just selling products, we’re helping modernize and humanize the correctional experience, supporting agencies, strengthening family connections, and pushing an industry forward that desperately needs innovation and thoughtful leadership. As I listened to our board members share their journeys, passions, visions, and bold plans for the future, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. It reminded me of a simple truth: you are what you consume. Just as good food nourishes the body, our minds and spirits need healthy fuel too—encouragement, trust, support, belief, and gratitude. That’s why it matters so deeply who you surround yourself with. When you choose to be around capable, caring, and passionate people—people who see the best in you, challenge you, and help you grow—you don’t just level up professionally. You grow as a human. NTX ISSA holds a very special place in my heart. I am forever grateful to Elena Garrett for encouraging me to join all those years ago, and to PETER VOGEL (MS Computer Science and JD) for believing in me—often more than I believed in myself. The expensive mistake contractors make is treating a CMMC assessment like a normal audit. CMMC is not a casual conversation with an auditor who “gets what you mean.” Assessments are expensive. Failing is more expensive. And failure has consequences that don’t show up on an IT project plan. If you fail, you don’t just lose time. You risk losing eligibility for work until you can prove you meet the requirements. That is why “we’ll figure it out internally” turns into a long, painful timeline. Getting a team up to speed the right way can take months. And when you’re learning it while also trying to run the business, the learning curve costs real money. #CMMCaudit #itsupport #MSP #compliance
