Matthew P. Kerle reposted thisMatthew P. Kerle reposted thisBenefit claim reviews shouldn’t take days. Reimbursements shouldn’t take weeks. That’s why Benepass has built an AI-powered process that reviews employee claims in seconds, in any language, so employees get their money back faster. And because employees are happy with their benefits experience, employers receive fewer questions. Even better: the system improves with every claim, based on human auditor feedback and AI-powered automations. Watch Alaya Levi Salley and Alexi Garrow, a Benepass Software Engineer, talk more about this. Then, check out the link to our full blog post in the comments. 🔗

Matthew P. Kerle reposted thisMatthew P. Kerle reposted thisWe're hiring a Senior Account Executive at diner. Up to now, every deal has been founder led. Direct relationships, high-conviction selling, founders in the room. That got us to 180+ cities and a growing roster of multi-location restaurant groups who trust us with their guest experience. Now the next phase is building a sales engine that scales alongside the partners we serve. So this is a closer who also builds. You'll carry a quota and own enterprise relationships from first conversation through close. You'll also help shape how diner prospects, qualifies, and closes, and decide which parts of the motion should be human-led and which should be handled by AI tooling so your time goes to the call and the table, not the admin work. The ideal person has 6 to 10 years carrying a quota and has built sales motions before, not just executed inside someone else's. Hospitality experience is a plus, but strong fundamentals and the appetite to build from the front matter most. If you've ever wanted to walk into an early company and actually shape how it sells, this is that seat. Details and apply here: https://lnkd.in/gR9_SrYC Reach out or tag someone who'd be great.

Matthew P. Kerle reposted thisMatthew P. Kerle reposted thisEmployees increasingly expect benefits to work as seamlessly as the financial tools they use every day. Yet, many benefit experiences still rely on slow reimbursement workflows, confusing eligibility rules, and frustrating card declines. Today, we're excited to announce a series of Benepass platform enhancements designed to bring consumer payment standards to employee benefits: 👉 A benefits card with real-time decisioning for eligible purchases anywhere Visa is accepted 👉 Near-instant AI-powered claims reviews for faster reimbursements, and 👉 A personalized benefits hub, with guided journeys to help employees find eligible places to spend. Together, these enhancements make it easier for employees to tap, submit, and explore eligible spending across 90 countries. Matthew P. Kerle reposted thisMatthew P. Kerle reposted thisOver the last week, 10 companies selected Benepass to manage their pre-tax and post-tax benefits. While we're incredibly grateful for the growth, what excites us most isn't the deals themselves it's what they represent. More employers are recognizing that Lifestyle Spending Accounts give employees the flexibility to invest in what matters most to them, whether that's wellness, family, professional development, commuting, or something entirely unique to their lives. We're seeing a meaningful shift in how companies think about benefits: from siloed programs to personalized experiences that drive engagement, retention, and employee satisfaction. The momentum is real, and we're just getting started. 🤘🏻

Matthew P. Kerle reposted thisMatthew P. Kerle reposted thisI keep seeing the same failure mode with LSAs: “Let’s just copy Company X’s categories.” It’s understandable. You go to a benefits conference and you’re absolutely flooded by point solutions. So you look around and think: what are the “best” companies doing? And then you mirror it. The problem is that the “right” LSA design is much less about what’s popular, and much more about your operating constraints. Two examples that show the extremes: 1 — the ~1,500 employee FinTech with an HR team of two If you’re a small team, an LSA can be the most pragmatic way to serve a wide range of employee needs without taking on the admin overhead of 6 separate programs. In an ideal world, you’d launch a robust mental health program and a fertility / family formation program. Sometimes that’s just not in the cards. An LSA can buy you breadth while you build the muscle for depth. 2 — the ~55,000 employee professional services firm On the other end, you might already have a long-standing portfolio of programs. Then the hard part isn’t “what else should we add?” but it becomes more around change management without breaking the trust of all those employees. Then the LSA can be a way to prune underperforming programs that aren’t getting used all without taking anything away from employees, because you can make those categories eligible inside the LSA. Same product. Totally different job-to-be-done. As you’re evaluating LSAs this year: are you doing it because you need coverage (small team), or because you need simplification (big portfolio)? Or both? Curious how others are thinking about this.

Matthew P. Kerle liked thisMatthew P. Kerle liked thisWhen I quit my role as principal engineer at Alphabet to look for something new, I put some thought into how to market myself to new employers. Somewhere in the interview process, someone would invariably ask something like "How much time would you like to spend coding?" Which is essentially asking, "What do you think a principal engineer's job is?" I had a rehearsed answer for this: I'm here to solve the biggest technical problems you have. I've been an engineer, a TL, and an engineering director—so I know how to solve problems with code, but I also know how to solve problems with people and processes. I can produce a lot of code if needed, but I've never heard an executive tell me, "The biggest problem facing our business is that we need to ship 100,000 lines of code next month." In my experience, the biggest problems are with humans, not machines: the rust on the gears that keeps the whole org from moving with agility or focusing on the things that matter. I see a ton of folks on here behaving as if "ship 100k LOC" is the most important problem to solve. Folks are flaunting their tokenmaxxing or the number of times they ship per day with AI, and burying the lede: Is revenue going up? Reliability? Customer satisfaction? If not, who gives a damn about your token spend or how many agents you can run in parallel? Stop bragging about how hard you're sweating and brag about how many mountains you've moved.

Matthew P. Kerle liked thisMatthew P. Kerle liked thisThe conversation around playing surfaces in the NFL deserves more attention. NFL stadiums across North America played host to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, causing many venues to invest in high-quality natural grass systems that can be installed, maintained, and removed efficiently. If it's possible to create world-class grass fields for the biggest soccer tournament on the planet, it raises an important question: Why can't we make that the standard for NFL players? Professional football is an incredibly demanding sport. While no surface can eliminate injuries, many players have consistently voiced concerns about artificial turf and have advocated for natural grass as the safer option. The technology now exists. Stadiums have shown they can adapt. The investment is significant, but so is the investment teams make in their most valuable asset: their players. Player safety shouldn't be a talking point only after a major injury—it should be a priority in every decision, including the field beneath their feet. The World Cup is proving that modern stadiums can accommodate natural grass, even in venues primarily designed for other sports. Perhaps this moment can also be the catalyst for the NFL to revisit its long-term approach to playing surfaces. We’ve seen what’s possible. Now it’s time to make grass fields the standard. Players are #WorthTheCost.

What does it cost to run Drupal's infrastructure? About $10 per site per year. Today the Drupal Association funds roughly $7.50 of that, with the gap showing up as technical debt. It’s time to start brainstorming about how we might fix that. More details and thoughts at https://lnkd.in/eThPsJaR.

Quick question for website owners & SaaS teams: If an accessibility audit was done today, would your site pass WCAG / ADA checks? Most teams assume yes — and are surprised by the results. Accessibility gaps usually show up during lawsuits or procurement reviews. Web Accessibility Expert #WebAccessibility #WCAG #ADACompliance

Federal agencies cannot afford to wait for Drupal 12 and should act to upgrade to Drupal 11. Drupal's accelerated release cycle, increased reliance on modern PHP and Symfony, and removal of legacy application programming interfaces (APIs) make “large leap forward" upgrades (e.g., Drupal 7 → 10) no longer feasible without incurring significant technical debt, operational delays, and security exposure. Agencies often face complex environments, system dependencies, and downtime concerns, but these challenges are solvable. CTAC has you covered. We’ve done this time and time again at scale. Bringing deep Drupal expertise, strong cloud capabilities, and AWS Advanced Partner experience, CTAC takes a holistic approach across Drupal, AWS infrastructure, DevSecOps pipelines, and ATO readiness, all supported by Acquia Certified Drupal Developers and Site Builders. Modernization is continuous. Request our detailed report to learn more about the implications of waiting to upgrade and get a glimpse of our phased upgrade approach. https://lnkd.in/ehrBtCfC
