I am blessed to share that Andre Jr. has chosen to attend Gonzaga college high school in Washington D.C. He is so excited to be joining their brotherhood and making a difference on and off the football field. I can’t wait to see Andre Jr. thrive as a student athlete at Gonzaga.#purpleisforever💜🦅🏈

Mark Versnick liked thisMark Versnick liked thisThis photo was taken last week at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Annual Scientific Congress. The hybrid format was hugely successful, thanks to the amazing team at RACS. As the #convenor for the #Endocrine #Surgery section, I had the opportunity to host Professor Stan Sidhu, from Royal North Shore in Sydney, as one of our honoured Foundation Visitors for the week. Just over 10 years ago, I had the honour of being trained by him along with other world-renowned endocrine #surgeons during my TS Reeves Endocrine Surgery Fellowship. Subsequently, he also became my PhD supervisor. Upon completion of my #PhD, he was also instrumental in connecting me to the right people for a job back in Melbourne. I am so grateful and feel so fortunate that I have him and so many others as my mentors (one of them, Prof Serpell, is also pictured here), guiding me through my career. Many of them significantly changed my career trajectory thus far. As I reflect on the events of the past week, I couldn’t help but wonder, how different my career might have been, had I not had the shoulders of these giants on which to stand.

There is no anatomical separation of level 6 from level 7 so we examined this lymph node basin and found the prevalence of PTC to be significant.

Minimally Invasive Parathyroidectomy Provided a Conservative Surgical Option for Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1 Associated Primary Hyperparathyroidism
Surgery
The treatment of hyperparathyroidism in MEN 1 has traditionally attempted cure by subtotal or total parathyroidectomy. We found that management of the disease process can be achieved with minimally invasive parathyroidectomy of the actively hyper-functional gland while protecting the safety of the neck for future explorations. The complication of the subtotal and total parathyroidectomy was therefore delayed years or decades.
