ViantCon is always such an amazing opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate Viant's incredible team and culture. This year was extra special as I got to kick off the event and be on stage throughout the first day. Huge thanks to Tim Vanderhook and Chris Vanderhook for trusting me with this role. What makes Viant stand out is its people and culture, and the chance to work at the cutting edge of advertising and AI alongside some of the biggest advertisers, publishers, and data partners, all with the resources and scale of a public company. As many of you know, several companies have unfortunately had massive layoffs, and thus, some of our closest peers have been rocked the hardest during one of the busiest times of the year. For that reason, reaching out as a “part 2” to my post last week, this time on behalf of a few colleagues that I consider VERY close to myself (all in Advertising). Candidate 1 has a background in Digital Investment, but is very capable and adept at learning new things. She has had a METEORIC start to her career, working on big brands such as Citibank, Spotify, Pfizer, and Edgewell among others. She is open to any/all roles, is also a former direct report of mine, and thus, has the full Sauce of Approval. Candidates 2 and 3 have a mix of agency AND publisher experience, most recently having worked at Amazon. They both have Strategy + Planning backgrounds, and thus, are strategic thinkers. And, it goes without saying that they are both strong female leaders that are open to any opportunities presented. I’ve got resumes on hand and am ready to connect. Awesome time with Mark Rosenberg and Archie Chappel at The Millennium Alliance in Dallas this week - shining a light on critical issues impacting the American workforce and the inspiring people & organizations working to tackle them. Also have to give a shoutout to my guy Todd Hicks who endured planes, trains, and automobiles with me on our 12 hour adventure home 🙃Mark Filippo liked thisWhat a great trip to Dallas! 🤠 Had the opportunity to sit down and share ideas around helping today's Workforce with some of the leading Executives on the Globe. Met with Mark Cuban and listened to an insightful take on issues that effect Americans every day. Enjoyed Wagestream's very own Archie Chappel as he led an incredible session around how to 'Exceed Your Employees Expectations Around Financial Wellbeing' And as always, met some fantastic new friends for a lot of laughs. Now that I have your attention, programmatic isn’t “crap.” You just don’t know how to use it, measure it, or you have someone managing it who doesn’t. Programmatic is the hardest channel to get right. There are thousands of sites, millions of combinations, and even the best tech won’t save you if your buyer doesn’t know how to pull the right levers. Success in programmatic requires nailing both audience segmentation and inventory, two of the hardest things to get right every time. Most buyers don’t know how to create a proper allowlist, identify the best sellers of that inventory, set up PMPs, and use the right tech to determine who within that inventory should see an ad. Many don’t even understand how to handle bid requests that require IDs versus those that don’t. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack every single time. The best buyers figure this out and make programmatic work, but bad measurement, fake metrics, and unrealistic expectations, like comparing programmatic attribution to search and social, lead to wasted budgets and a bad reputation. Too many buyers treat programmatic like search and social, where there’s essentially one inventory source and you just load an audience and go. That’s how budgets go up in flames. Get the right buyer and programmatic delivers. Get it wrong and you’ll think it’s broken.

Our service and generosity of spirit make a real difference in the lives of patients and their families. We try and make their hospital experience as pleasant as possible. Supporting staff members and fulfilling clerical work in various departments was also part of the experience as well.
