Achieved rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, assisting with our Troop completing a number of projects. My personal Eagle Project was restoring Veteran grave medallions at a local cemetery. The medallions had become worn, mangled, and damaged by age and lawn equipment. My project involved sourcing donated goods to replace, restore, and refurbish the medallions for the Veterans and their families.

🚨 Major Florida Entrapment Ruling 🚨 Can a defendant argue entrapment to the jury? 👉 Usually yes — but there’s one critical exception. Florida’s 1st District Court of Appeal ruled that although defendants are generally entitled to an entrapment jury instruction, that right disappears if the defendant denies committing the crime itself under oath. ⚖️ What the court held: • Entrapment instructions are normally required if any evidence of entrapment is presented • Exception: A defendant cannot claim entrapment if they testify they did not commit the charged offense at all • Denying a required element of the crime can legally bar the entrapment defense 📌 In Ho Yeaon So v. State, the defendant claimed he believed he was meeting an adult — not a minor — which meant he denied a key element of the offense. Because of that, the trial court properly refused to instruct the jury on entrapment. ⚠️ Why this matters: Your trial testimony can eliminate entire defenses — even ones you would normally be entitled to argue. 🔍 This case highlights how defense strategy, testimony, and jury instructions are tightly connected under Florida law. 👉 Read the full breakdown here: https://lnkd.in/e3qbg7Mf
