Leading the planning for these sessions stretched us creatively and operationally in the best possible ways. Each workshop taught us something new, and seeing the excitement from the students, Bucs players and staff, and our Think Big team made every iteration worth it. We look forward to building on this experience and designing even more meaningful opportunities for our students in the future.Maria Matarelli liked thisWhat happens when students get to learn life lessons directly from NFL players and staff? 🏈 In collaboration with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Player-Student Mentoring Program and Think Big, teens participated in four high-energy, hands-on sessions focused on communication, leadership, time management and career pathways - turning lessons from the field into skills for school, work and life. 🏅Students from two local high schools worked side-by-side with Bucs players, cheerleaders and team staff to lead team challenges, practice communication under pressure, set SMART goals and explore future careers, including a behind-the-scenes look at how a professional sports organization runs. 🙌 We’re grateful to partner with incredible organizations like the Bucs who help bring these powerful learning experiences to life and help students build a future without limits. We often talk about systems change as if it lives “out there” — in structures, policies, strategies, org charts. But systems don’t change unless people do. In my latest post in a series on organizational dev, I explore the essential bridge between individual development and organizational culture , and why you can’t have one without the other. If we want adaptive, resilient, regenerative organizations, we need individuals who can: - Reflect on their own assumptions and behaviors. - Build trust through authentic relationships. - Work across differences with curiosity rather than control. - Self-organize around shared purpose. We need to remember that culture can't be installed, it emerges. When enough individuals grow their capacity for awareness, collaboration, and shared accountability, the system begins to reorganize itself. That’s when sustainable transformation happens.
