Men: ✔ Business attire = suit ✔ Business casual = sport coat ✔ Smart Casual = golf shirt/attire Women: 🤷♀️ Business attire 🤷♀️ Smart casual 🤷♀️ Elevated casual 🤷♀️ Professional but comfortable Every event seems to have a different interpretation. I inevitably end up overpacking “just in case.” Do I need a blazer? A cute jacket? A cardigan? A blouse? Dress pants? Jeans? Heels? Flats? Fashion sneakers? And don’t even get me started on accessories. Then I arrive and realize everyone interpreted the dress code differently anyway. What we need is the female equivalent of men’s golf attire. That one universally accepted outfit that says: ✔ I’m put together ✔ I’m appropriate for almost any occasion ✔ I didn’t need a 45-minute dissertation on what “smart casual” means Please tell me I’m not the only one. Ladies, what’s your go-to outfit? Men, am I giving your golf attire system too much credit?

We’re especially interested in professionals, researchers, advocates, and philanthropists whose work connects to any of the SDGs — from climate and public health to education, equity, economic opportunity, sustainability, and beyond. Liz Eiseman reposted thisLiz Eiseman reposted thisThis morning, I responded to 132 InMail messages from jobseekers, and I want to share something that may help you before you reach out to a recruiter. Nearly half of those messages were from people asking about opportunities I do not support. Another group of messages gave me very little context. Some simply said: “Do you have any openings?” “Can you help me?” “Please review my profile.” I understand why people reach out this way. I really do The job search is exhausting, especially in this current market. People are trying to get noticed. People are hoping someone will just give them a chance. The truth is, the more context you provide, the easier it is for a recruiter to help you. Before you send the message, take a few minutes to do this: Check out the company the recruiter works for. Read their About section. Review any hiring posts or featured jobs they have shared. See if they actually support the type of role, location, or business area you are targeting. Those few minutes can save you time, frustration, and disappointment. If they are the right recruiter, make your message easy to respond to. Let them know you applied and include: The role title. The requisition number. Why your background aligns. A clear and specific ask. Include your resume as well. Recruiters are moving from intake calls to sourcing, screening, scheduling, debriefs, offer approvals, follow-ups, and everything else that happens in between. When you send a message with no context, you are unintentionally asking them to do extra research before they can even answer you. This does not mean every recruiter will respond, but it does position you better. It shows you were intentional, that you did your research and it makes it easier for the right person to help you. Reaching out to recruiters is not desperate. Reaching out with clarity is powerful. If you are reaching out to recruiters during your search, save this before you send your next message. If you know someone who is applying and not hearing back, repost this so they can use it too.

(jk, wont die for anything besides my cute kids, but alas, dramatic effect) SKIMMABILITY Everyone, but especially TA, HR, and recruiters, are master skimmers and even with various AI-filtering support, it’s still humans making the decisions. So here’s some quick tips for formatting 1️⃣ font size min 10 (10.5 is my go to ) 2️⃣ 1.15 spacing between bullet points (see screenshot below if unsure how to do this! 3️⃣ narrow margins for more space 4️⃣ right aligned dates for easy chronological skim 5️⃣ light shading around the companies you've worked for Rooting for you! You know who you are! :) (matches with real accounts are coincidental, I am almost sure they exist but I imagined them) So… As of April 2026, Google has begun rolling out a feature allowing users to change their @gmail.com username (the part before @gmail.com) directly in settings. Navigate to https://lnkd.in/ee8ycMr3 > Email > Google Account email to check for a "Change" option, allowing you to update your address while keeping your data. Steps to Change Your Gmail Username (If Enabled): 1. Sign in to your Google Account settings. 2. Click on Personal info and select Email. 3. Choose Google Account email. 4. If available, click Change next to your email address. 5. Enter a new username and follow the on-screen instructions. Note: The old address becomes a permanent auto-forwarding alias, and you can only change it once every 12 months. Note 2: As of early 2026, this feature is rolling out gradually, primarily in the US first. Clean up your first impression without registering a new account!

I had the opportunity to meet Venus Williams, along with so many amazing people, including our clients and HR leaders from a wide range of industries. One story that has stayed with me came from Venus. She talked about talented young athletes who had the same potential as she did, but whose coaching experiences were not effective enough to bring out their full potential. Despite their talent, they didn’t receive the guidance they needed to truly thrive. In Mandarin, we have a saying: “千里马常有，而伯乐不常有.” It means that a thousand-mile horse is common, but a true talent scout is rare. Talent is everywhere. Potential is everywhere. But the right coach, mentor, or leader can make all the difference. Sometimes, greatness is not determined by how much talent someone has, but by whether they have the right person helping them unlock it. I am truly grateful to everyone at EZRA who made this event possible, and to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a meaningful experience ❤️

They have been incredible resources not only to their clients and candidates, but to the entire LHH DMV team. If you want hungry, driven, motivated and unbelievable recruiters to rely on, please reach out to them. Every single day, they are giving 200% effort and have the utmost professionalism. Tommy is thriving in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering and Construction recruitment and Rachel is thriving in Accounting and Finance recruitment. While they are still very junior in their career here at LHH, they have the backing of decades of recruitment professionals around them in the market. What they are building is super exciting and being here to watch it gets me fired up every day. To the Moon we go!
