Lexi B. reposted thisLexi B. reposted thisThings I learned co-art directing and editing videos for Intuit Accountants' seasonal campaign: 1. Real accountants are funnier than you think. 2. They also have notes. Good ones. 3. "Trust the vision" is a lot easier to say when the vision is, in fact, trustworthy — which it was, because the team behind it is stacked. We shot with actual accountants instead of casting actors who furrow their brow at spreadsheets. We built the creative around their real energy. In the edit bay, that meant cutting for the laugh that actually landed, not the one we planned for. I got to do this alongside photographers, videographers, producers, stylists, and a co-art director who turned every reference image into something better than the reference. Massive growth, a vision and product that thousands and thousands of companies big and small couldn't live without, and a team worth every single moment I put in over the past 4 years. What more could I have asked for? What I'll miss most isn't the metrics (although I have no doubt it's going to be a MASSIVE year - go crush it, y'all 🚀 ), it's the people. The ones who pushed back on my thinking, the ones I learned from, and the ones that trusted me with experiments, channels, operations, and strategy - you all made all the work worth doing. Thank you to Navneet Loiwal, Tommy Tsai and the exec team for trusting me with the opportunity. Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared such honest conversations throughout the week. We covered everything from capacity challenges and burnout to technology, growth, and the tools that can help firms work more efficiently while better supporting both their teams and their clients. This summer, we’re traveling across the U.S. bringing together firm leaders for immersive workshops focused on increasing operational capacity, leveraging new technologies, sharing ideas with peers, and walking away with actionable strategies they can put into practice right away. Really looking forward to continuing these #BetterTogether conversations in L.A. next week. Who will we see there?
