She's built a career at the intersection of user insight and product execution—and that perspective will be a real asset as she steps in to manage our RADIUS platform. Brianna will work closely with our client base through advisory groups, survey feedback, and other channels to help shape the development roadmap for the RADIUS platform. As a proud mom of 4 kids and 1 dog-child, she loves spending time outside with her family and planning her next vacation to Kaua'i. We're thrilled to have her on board. Welcome to the team, Brianna!

From the beginning, the work forced me to think differently, learn a new domain (or, actually, many domains!), and help lead the company to innovate in ways it hadn’t before. Working with incredible people has been the most rewarding part of the job. It’s been so much fun building the Experience Foundations team, watching our growing impact on Autodesk’s future in the agentic/AI space, and working across the company with incredible leaders like Amy Bunszel, Raji Arasu, Brett Adam, Dr. Cornelia Scheitz, Mike Haley, and Andrew Anagnost. Last week, many leaders across Autodesk came to Seattle for a truly inspired week of learning and strategizing called TechX. I have to admit I’ve never experienced anything quite like it! Between the mainstage keynote, where Michelangelo Capraro, Andrew Anagnost, and I unveiled an exciting demo which will have a tremendous impact on our future, as well as the many talks and discussions on agentic experiences, design sprints, how we’ll use AI to make our products more human, and how our research teams can help us inspire even more innovation, it was a whirlwind of inspiration, passion, and excitement. Thank you to everyone at Autodesk who has welcomed me so wholeheartedly to this remarkable company! 🔥 😍 🙏

Lauren Haas reacted on thisLauren Haas reacted on thisThis past Monday, I wrapped up my time at Google after an incredible 12.5 years. I made the difficult decision to leave to take a career sabbatical for a chance to pause, explore, and figure out what's next. I'm deeply grateful for this chapter. From my start on the publisher-side of the ads business to my work as a lead PM on Google's Workforce Planning suite, the journey has shaped me in ways that are hard to put into words. Three things stand out: 1. The people. I've worked with some of the smartest and kindest colleagues. People who care deeply about their work and each other. Across teams and organizations, I've felt a genuine sense of community. I treasure the friendships that came out of it. 2. The simple product truth that's stuck with me: keep your eye on the prize. Know your users, empathize deeply, and meet their needs. Everything else follows. 3. Navigating tough situations helped me grow as a person, a leader, and a PM. They taught me what matters most, and they're a lot easier when you're surrounded by amazing people. See #1. To Beth and everyone who supported me along this journey, I can't thank you enough.

My study—"Strategic Innovation in Driving Competitive Advantage in AEC Firms"—explored how leadership, organizational culture, and technology adoption create sustained competitive advantage in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. Grateful to my dissertation chair Dr. Gehan Dhameeth, Ph.D, DBA, M.Sc, MBA, committee members Dr. Michelle Preiksaitis, JD, PhD and Dr. Stephanie Thacker, DBA, along with my family, mentors, and colleagues for their guidance and support throughout this journey. #PhD #DoctoralDefense #StrategicManagement #Innovation #AEC #Leadership #DigitalTransformation #Construction #Architecture #Engineering #CompetitiveAdvantage

Lauren Haas reacted on thisLauren Haas reacted on thisI joined Zip this week as Director of Product Design and I'm really excited about what's ahead. Procurement is one of those categories that's been built for compliance, not people. The workflows are complex, the stakes are high, and for most people using these tools every day, the experience has historically not been a priority. That's exactly what makes it interesting. What made Zip an easy choice: The people. I'll get to work again with some terrific folks I've worked with before at Airbnb and Splunk, and the bar I felt in every conversation with the broader Zip team reminded me of that. Design has a real seat at the table here. The trajectory. Zip is moving fast and thinking seriously about where the product goes next. I want to be part of building that. The AI moment. Zip isn't bolting AI onto legacy procurement. It's built into how the platform works. Purpose-built AI agents that orchestrate across teams, tools, and suppliers to help companies move faster with less risk. The chance to shape that experience as a designer is rare. I'm just getting started, but it already feels like the right place to do meaningful work with awesome people. Thanks to Jing, Paoula, Joyce, Lu, Gabe, Wenchang, Minjong, Bhavani for being great hosts! We're also building the team across Design and Product. Check the comments for a few roles I'm especially excited about.

Wolters Kluwer’s mission is to help professionals make critical decisions by delivering trusted information, software, and services to industries where accuracy, resilience, and trust matter most - including healthcare, finance, tax, legal, and compliance. For me personally, this role reflects a natural continuation of my own path of growth. I’ve been fortunate to learn from organizations operating at the forefront of global technology platforms and large-scale investment management, experiences that reinforced how essential it is to bring together technology, security, and strategic execution. Wolters Kluwer sits at an important intersection of those capabilities, supporting professionals who operate in some of the most complex and regulated environments in the world. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the company and contributing to the continued evolution of the platform. Grateful to the many people who have supported me along the way. This hit close to home. This quarter we've been actively rethinking our design process. Removing rituals, pulling back on some discovery activities, and prioritizing speed and learning over craft and critique. It can be uncomfortable but it's the right direction. This episode puts a lot of it into words.

Episode 2 is out now! Delighted to be part of our panel on Design Systems as Strategic Investment, where I was joined by Ash Amrite, Billy Hanna, Christopher S., and Luis Ouriach from Figma. Together, we explored key questions: - How do you quantify value? - How do you align stakeholders across design, engineering, and product? - And what does success look like at scale? We dug into how organisations can: ✅ Define the ROI of design systems ✅ Align cross-functional teams ✅ Navigate enterprise adoption ✅ Turn design consistency into real business impact Whether you’re scaling a new system or refining a mature one, this session is packed with actionable insights to take back to your org. 👉 Watch the full conversation here: https://lnkd.in/gDsUEeUY #DesignSystems #EnterpriseUX #ProductDesign #DesignOps #UXLeadership #DesignStrategy #Merkle

I’ve been reflecting on a recent conversation about design as control versus design as collaboration. Dr. Liz Gerber puts it this way, "AI...has been promised to do whatever we want. The one thing it can’t do is tell us what we want." Jai Shekhawat asked, "What might a future interface look like?" I’d challenge us to even expand that question to include what future societies might look like when we prioritize collaboration over control, inclusion over speed, sustainability over scale. Whether design, technology, media, or civic spaces, the common thread is the same: we cannot outsource human values to systems. I believe our work is to invite possibility, to imagine what humans want before tech imposes what’s possible. “To create anything new and novel, you have to be prepared to do something different to get after it," Kevin Bethune notes. As design finds its role alongside AI, we can feel confident that our choices shape systems, not the other way around. What choices then are we making today, in design, in media, in our communities, to ensure human dignity leads the way? Thank you to Lee Moreau for convening the conversation.

I find a lot of satisfaction in using vibe coding tools to turn what used to just be fun ideas into real outputs people can use. A couple weekends ago before our whole family was taken down with the flu for 8 straight days, Annie Clark and I took a conversation from our Thursday date night about how to reduce the murkiness around discussing design roles and responsibilities in the modern day and created Is Like, a framework for understanding what kind of designer you should look for based on your specific needs. Have a short conversation with our evaluator and Is Like will output a full readout of skills to look for, how they should be distributed, and what kind of title you should be looking for. We went from concept to publishing in about 72 hours before influenza-a prevented us from sharing, but we’re healed and would love to hear feedback.
