Today is my first day in Netflix’s Growth Product Experiences (GPX) org, working directly on netflix dot com. 🍿 I'll be focused on accounts and consumer data, and I couldn't be more excited to start building for my *real* people: the dedicated binge-watchers. Here’s to new repos, new people to blame for bugs, and a new journey, creating seamless experiences for viewers! 🥂💻

Today, we're offering our team full benefits for the first time: 401k, health, dental, vision, and short-term disability. There's no sign for when a startup feels like a "real" company. But if there were, I think "your company qualifies for a group health plan" would be in there somewhere. Maybe signing a 3 year lease was it too? Grateful for every customer, supporter, and our growing list of teammates who helped make this possible. Also thanks to Stuart Perelmuter for answering all of my odd questions as we went through this journey of getting our first quote.

Been diving into React Native performance issues lately, and wow - there's a lot we can do to optimize! 🚀 Just read this fantastic piece that confirms what I've been telling clients: React Native CAN deliver near-native performance when done right. The real game-changers? ▪️ Using FlatList instead of ListView (memory leaks, begone!) ▪️ Optimizing image sizes (seems obvious, but you'd be surprised...) ▪️ Reducing dependencies (less is more, folks) ▪️ Being smart about component selection ▪️ Minimizing unnecessary renders At Visoft, we're constantly refining our approach to mobile development.
