In 1876, the founder of AT&T, Alexander Graham Bell, made the very first phone call. And now, 150 years later, I get to say I’m part of that story. I joined AT&T a few months ago, and today felt like exactly the right moment to share it. A few things moved me during our company celebration today. The first was just sitting with the fact that I work for a company that is truly in the big leagues. I have full bragging rights to say the founder of my company made the very first phone call and changed the way that humanity connects — forever. The second was the legacy woven into this place. Every day I meet someone — or hear about someone — with family ties to AT&T going back generations. And while I’m the first in my family to walk through these doors, I’m already thinking about the legacy I want to create as this is just the beginning of my own chapter here. And then there was the part that genuinely stopped me — just sitting with how it all started. From one phone call, an entire network grew that has quite literally changed how we experience the world. I’m hundreds of miles from my family, but I don’t feel it the way you’d think. A FaceTime here, a voice note there — that closeness exists because of what this company built and continues to build. That’s not lost on me. AT&T has always been a company I admired. If I’m being honest, I couldn’t fully articulate why — I just knew I was drawn to it because something about it always pulled at me. But now I understand. It’s the people. It’s the purpose. It’s the weight of the legacy and the audacity to keep innovating. And somewhere in all of that, I found a culture that mirrors the way I work and who I am. That’s not something you take for granted. I’m so proud to be here. 💙 #ATT150 #LifeAtAtt
