Just shy of one year with the team, yet I'm proud of the work done in that time with the team. From evangelizing AI systems across the BizTech team, to implementing deep systems refactoring and processes, getting shout outs at the WKO, it has been an unfortunately short but fun ride. Wish the best to my old team members (Sneha C☁Maggie Stewart Sourav Kumar) and a thank you to Laura Clontz for bringing me on in the first place. I hope the work we collaborated on helps you all. It was time for Default to re-invent itself. Today, we're launching a new product and announcing our Series A led by 8VC, with participation from Craft Ventures, Tokyo Black, Scribble Ventures, and Jack Altman, bringing us to $20m raised. The product we spent our first two years building was powerful. But it wasn't where the future was headed. Revenue teams have never needed tools less than they do today. But the need—and demand—for better data, intelligence, and infrastructure for go-to-market has never been higher. What we’ve heard from customers over the last few months has been consistent. Everyone is trying to build or buy agents, with limited success and the same bottlenecks: their legacy systems and siloed data are nowhere near ready for them. Today, we're launching the easiest way to deploy revenue agents on a unified, real-time data layer built for go-to-market. One day I was getting fairly routine messages from recruiters, the next I couldn't log into my work computer. Like many of my colleagues, I'd been laid off. Since then, I wrapped my head around my job of 4.5 years dropping that sort of news on so many of us, took a week-long road trip with my partner to celebrate my birthday (good timing, really), repotted a whole lot of plants, and... kept talking to that recruiter. Along with others, to be fair. I HAD just gotten laid off... Those conversations went like they always do: a lot of duds, several false starts, a few very promising ones, and one that just clicked. Best of all, it came from that very same recruiter who just happened to reach out to me the day before the layoff. 4 weeks to the day after my surprise layoff, I had an offer in my inbox from a company I was very excited about. So I signed it. I start next month. In the meantime, I'm taking a little time to myself, to decompress from an absolute sprint of the past month, spend some time with family and friends I haven't seen nearly enough of lately, and get ready to commute to an office again. After 7 years of remote work, I'm so ready for that! More details to come when I start and can well and truly let my guard down 😁

And yes, if you saw my most recent LinkedIn post, this happened three weeks after I returned from Webflow's President's Club trip to Mexico. No shade to Webflow. I'm genuinely grateful for the trip, the recognition, and 2.5 years of meaningful work with some truly great people. But the contrast is objectively absurd. One month you're being celebrated as a top performer, and the next you're updating your LinkedIn headline. That's tech in 2026, and I know I'm not the only one feeling that whiplash right now. So...I'm officially looking for my next Chief of Staff or Strategy and Operations leadership role. I'm a proud generalist and jill of all trades. I like messy, ambiguous problems, especially the ones that cut across teams and don't come with a clear owner or playbook. I'm at my best when bringing structure to chaos, building something from scratch, and helping leaders and teams focus on what actually matters. When reflecting on what's next, I've realized my favorite role in my career was serving as a Chief of Staff at AWS, supporting a complex organization of sellers and technologists across 26 countries, nine industry verticals, and thousands of employees. It's the kind of work I still love most. Owning planning and business cadences end to end. Creating executive reporting that leads to decisions, not just more reporting. And stepping into the important work that's at risk of stalling because no one technically owns it. I'm based in Seattle and not able to relocate right now, but I'm open to in-person, hybrid, or remote roles and able to travel as needed. If a leader or role comes to mind, I'd really appreciate the connection 🙏. In the meantime, I'm taking full advantage of a spectacular PNW summer with 10 am weekday tee times, chaperoning my son's end-of-year zoo field trip, riding my dirt bike, and continuing to over-engineer every corner of my personal life with Claude Code and Cowork in the name of "staying technically sharp." Onward!! 🫶

Justin Fogel-Concepcion liked thisJustin Fogel-Concepcion liked thisWebflow just laid off people in an insane way. They woke up to see their laptops locked without a single message. Then they see a blog post from the CEO about rebuilding Webflow "for the agentic web". One employee tagged the CEO on LinkedIn: "I'm locked out of my Webflow laptop since 7am this morning. Rumor has it we've been laid off, but I don't have an email or any message to confirm anything." Layoffs are the hardest thing to do in internal comms. The West has mostly aligned on one playbook: put everyone on a call or send the email to affected employees, so people learn right away, simultaneously, and others don't have to hesitate. You do this for two reasons. You want to part on decent terms with the people leaving. And you need to keep morale high among the people who stay and keep building. Webflow did neither. Good comms is "cheap". It doesn’t cost you a dollar more to do it right. But you need the willingness to make the call, even when it’s uncomfortable. That's what some executives lack and this is exactly where a good comms person would intervene and push for the right decision regardless of the chain of command. I wrote earlier that Webflow is in the messy middle. If you’re non-technical, you can use Squarespace. If you’re even slightly technical, you’re building with agents. There’s no space left between those two ends. I moved our agency’s site off Webflow to Astro on Vercel for exactly this reason. Building and managing sites with agents is just easier now, both design and content. Webflow's own AI is pretty bad. What they have left is trying to survive on a decreasing market share. They raised prices several times, now they laid people off, so they have a bit of time. You can’t comms your way out of a positioning problem but you must care about your employees, especially during hard times. Employer brands are hard to build and easy to ruin.

We arranged the event together with Folkhälsan on the topic of Health and Wellness centric leadership and had the joy of hosting CEO at Folkhälsan Anna Hellerstedt and COO Hintsa Performance Nora Rosendahl as keynote speakers. Nora and Anna shared valuable insights in health centric leadership strategies and instruments for developing sustainable performance for oneself and organisations. Self-knowledge, brain health, openness and safety as well as personal superpowers were lifted. The vibrant panel disucssion continued of the same topics and Anna Litonius, CEO Folkhälsan Välfärd, Månna Godenhjelm, Coach & Program Director Hanken & SSE Executive Education joined by Nora Rosendahl discussed tools and approaches for a health centric leadership. Diamanten i Finland rf 💎is a 20 year young organisation for female leaders. We drive active networking, educational and mentoring activities to inspire and connect brave, driven and growing leaders in senior positions.

What makes it harder, is leaving behind an incredible team from whom I learned so much. I'm walking away with the experience of working on impactful projects that align to the actual tech ecosystem. I'm open to new opportunities. My background spans SaaS companies and enterprise software across healthcare, hospitality, and consultancy and I'm looking to keep growing as a creative. The tools and the industry are evolving fast and I embrace that, but what I care about most is keeping human creativity and experiences at the center. Earlier today, a wave of Webflow employees woke up at 7:00 AM to find themselves completely locked out of their work laptops and accounts with zero warning. There was no email from HR or heads-up from leadership. People were literally tagging their managers on LinkedIn just to ask if they still had a job. While that chaos was happening internally, the CEO published a highly polished public blog post celebrating the company's new pivot toward AI automation. The hypocrisy of that timing is exactly why everyday professionals are losing all faith in tech leadership. It shows a massive gap between the nice values companies put on their websites and how they actually treat people when no one is looking. Pulling the plug on someone’s digital access before you even have the decency to tell them they're let go isn't some high-level business pivot. It’s just a completely classless way to treat human beings. We are seeing this happen across the whole industry right now. Executives are so desperate to look tech-forward to Wall Street and their investors that they are completely blinding themselves to how brutal this looks to the rest of the world. True leadership shouldn't require you to treat your own team like a glitch in the system just to show off an AI roadmap. How are companies supposed to build any real trust when the reward for your hard work is getting ghosted by your own laptop?

After 5 years at Webflow (and during a wonderful sabbatical) I am also part of the massive layoffs Webflow announced today. A solid run, and I will miss so many people I’ve grown close to over the years. I was hired when Webflow was hitting their stride in 2021. I’ve worn many hats and have gotten great opportunities to grow internally with different roles and responsibilities in Tech Support, Customer Success, and Education, ending as a Senior Customer Education Facilitator with an amazing team in the Education Department. Looking forward to expanding my skillset in the workforce, as well as being able to take on bigger acting projects, which has been a passion of mine for decades, and incredibly fruitful so far just this year! Any and all recs or insights for full-time work in Enablement, Education, Project Management, Onboarding, Tech Support, or any great places to work truly is welcome. Thanks to all my peeps for making my time at Webflow memorable ✨

Salesforce has launched an investigation into what it described as “unusual activity” tied to applications published by Gainsight, which may have exposed customer data. In response, Salesforce has temporarily #revoked access to the affected tools while it works to determine the scope of the incident. According to a brief notice on its status site, Salesforce said that certain Gainsight-developed apps installed and managed by customers “may have enabled #unauthorized access to certain customers’ Salesforce data.” It added that all active access to those applications has been revoked as a precaution.
