Cosmetics outpaced the category in the U.S. by 2x, the largest market share gain among 700+ mass cosmetics brands tracked by Nielsen. ► e.l.f. BEAUTY in 2019, I had a bold change agenda. I knew I wanted to shake up a lot of things, including how brands collaborate. People would ask me what my dream collaboration was and my answer was Liquid Death. I’ve been obsessed with the brand since I saw the first can at a concert. So much so that I needed to know the masterminds behind it. I studied Mike Cessario. I read the articles, listened to the podcasts and man(e.l.f.)ested “the dumbest possible” collaboration. While many things move at e.l.f. speed, this moved at a snail’s pace. I dreamt about it from 2019 until Corpse Paint came to market in 2024. During that time, I was relentlessly restless. I hounded Mike, pursued Peter Pham and essentially begged Daniel Murphy to have lunch with me. Then it finally happened. They agreed to take a meeting with us. And we’ve been kindred spirits force multiplying ever since. Corpse Paint didn’t just break the internet. It changed what people expect from a collab. Together, our brands unlocked a different dimension that neither one of us could have pulled off on our own. We “normalized the bizarre,” as Andy Pearson says, while also learning a lot from each other and having a ton of fun in the process. The team at Liquid Death stretched the limits of our imagination and pushed us to think bigger, take more risks and have more fun. It also left our community wanting more. And since our community asked for it, we’re back with what Dan Murphy calls, “the Terminator Two of sequels.” I agree with Dan — it’s even better than the first. And this time, with 6 flavors of Lip Embalms, a Lip Crypt and a death-defying underworld that will test your resolve beneath our e.l.f.UP! Roblox world. I can’t wait to hear what you think. We walked in as a growing family of six purpose-driven brands, officially welcoming rhode to E.L.F. BEAUTY. It was my third time ringing the bell, and yet each moment feels even more meaningful. Each time, I’m reminded how far we’ve come, how much we continue to grow, and how our purpose keeps expanding alongside our reach. I was humbled to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with remarkable founders reshaping the beauty landscape: Hailey Bieber, Michael D. Ratner and Lauren Ratner of rhode, Alicia Keys of Keys Soulcare, Susan Yara of Naturium, and Shirley Pinkson Manas & Renee Snyder, MD of Well People. I was moved by the collective presence of founders, entrepreneurs and culture-shapers who embody the heart of what e.l.f. stands for: positivity, inclusivity and accessibility. e.l.f. makes the best of beauty accessible to every eye, lip and face -- and we've been doing it for 21 years. With rhode, a breakthrough, high-growth brand built with intentionality and creativity, we expand our ability to reach and serve an even broader community. Hailey and her team have accomplished something extraordinary in just a few short years: thoughtfully curated skin care essentials, deeply connected to the community. I’ve spent more than three decades in the consumer space, and rhode’s clarity of vision and momentum are truly special. We’re also celebrating rhode’s next chapter: expansion into all SEPHORA stores across the U.S. and Canada, with the U.K. to follow later this year. Justin Crowe liked thisJustin Crowe liked thisFor nearly 15 years, I sent Tim Cook a weekly report every Sunday night on the global App Store business. My team and I packed it with data, charts, and commentary on what was happening around the world. Most weeks: silence. Every so often, a probing question would come back about a specific metric or market. Or, better, a note congratulating us on a strong quarter. Those reports taught me a lot about discipline and accountability. No matter where I was in the world, I sent that report. Tim expected his leaders to know their businesses cold. Whenever I put anything in front of him, I needed to understand not just the numbers, but what was driving them and what we were doing about it. His expectations made me a much better leader. On my last day at Apple, Tim and I had a 10-minute 1:1 scheduled. We talked for 30. Reflecting on my 21 years at the company, he told me my greatest accomplishment wasn’t helping build a $1 trillion App Store ecosystem or helping scale the business to more than one billion customers. It was the team I had built and the leaders I had developed who were ready to step up after I left. That meant the world to me. We took this photo together right after that conversation. Today is Tim’s last day as CEO of Apple. Much has been written about what he and the company accomplished under his leadership. But perhaps his greatest legacy is the one he taught me to value: the people he developed, the culture he shaped, and the leaders ready to carry it forward. I’ll always be grateful I got to be a part of it.
