I recently read about how IKEA approached AI driven time savings differently and it was exactly the story I was looking for. Instead of viewing saved time as headcount reduction, they saw it as an opportunity to redeploy talent and create new value with the same team. WOW. That’s the mindset shift I love. As a leader, this is exactly how I want to think about excellence for my team and our company: when we have more bandwidth, what new initiatives, ideas, or opportunities can we finally pursue? Thank you so much to The GSFF Team for making this happen. I will never forget that you did this for us. It’s amazing how far this little video has taken me. It’s truly lived the longest, most beautiful life. I want to say thank you to my friends at HIP Video Promo: Mike Kundrath, Hannah Santo, Rebecca Karaman, Catherine Garner & most importantly, Andy Gesner. Working with you as an employee taught me so much as a professional, but even more as an artist. Next, I want to thank my amazing cinematographer Kris Khunachak, who has always been so patient and understanding on set, no matter how abstract or unusual the vision is. I love being your client and also your friend. Thank you to my parents and sister who continue to support me on this journey and made this weekend even more exciting than it already was as well as my love, Jorge Pinho. We talked about the real stuff — sharing our experiences growing at Vonage, the lessons, the wins, the advice we'd give our younger selves, and what we wish managers knew when working with early talent. Today I want to recognize Christina Emert for her incredible support and great advice whenever necessary. Christina is on my team and has consistently embodied the spirit of "Give to Gain," showing up as an exceptional mentor, trainer, and teammate. Whether it’s jumping on a 1:1 to help me work through a complex security questionnaire, providing me general clarity, or walking me through Responsive to help me with updating documents, she’s always willing to help. Not only that but Christina has taken the time to review my work and guide me through things I’m still learning, while still managing to save time to juggle her own work and that has meant a lot. Having someone who’s so open to sharing their knowledge and showing me the ropes has made a real difference for me. By sharing her knowledge and taking the time to support my growth, she hasn't just helped me—she has elevated our entire team's capability and fostered a culture of trust and shared success. I’m really grateful for her mentorship and just wanted to say thank you publicly for all the ways she’s helped me grow this past year. You close the tab. Stop. You just rejected yourself before they even saw your name. That's their job, not yours. Your job is to apply. Their job is to decide if you're qualified. Don't do their job for them. Every time you think: "I don't have enough experience." "I'm missing that one skill." "They want someone with more years." "I'm not ready for this level." You're making their decision for them. Here's what actually happens: They post a wish list of 10 requirements. They interview real humans. They hire someone who has 6 of those 10. The person who got the job? They probably didn't meet all the requirements either. They just didn't disqualify themselves. Requirements are: What they hope to find. Not what they'll actually require. They're negotiable. They're flexible. They're often unrealistic. Meanwhile, you're out here being the strictest hiring manager: "Nope, I only have 3 years, they want 5." "Sorry, I've never used that exact software." "Can't apply, my degree is in the wrong field." Harder on yourself than they would ever be. Let them make that call. The worst that happens: They say no → You're exactly where you started. They ghost you → Still in the same position. They reject you → No worse off than not applying. The best that happens: They see potential you didn't see. They value different experience. They're willing to train. You get a role that accelerates your growth. The math is obvious. Stop being your own gatekeeper. You're not protecting yourself by not applying. You're just limiting your options before anyone else gets a chance. Every job you don't apply for is a guaranteed no. Every job you do apply for is a possible yes. Choose possible over guaranteed failure. They can reject your application. They can decline your interview. They can choose someone else. But don't make their decision easier by not showing up at all. Be your own advocate, not your own obstacle. Apply. Let them decide. Let them tell you no. Never be the one who says no to yourself. Special thanks to our amazing Co-Chairs, Nicole Colehamer & Brooke Eklund, for creating such an inspiring and productive space, and to Dawn Ochmann for organizing such a fun and much-needed event following a productive summit 🎉 ✨ As part of a mostly remote workforce, we don’t often connect in person, which made this experience extra special. It was amazing to finally meet face-to-face with so many incredible women I’ve collaborated with (and admired!) from afar — and shoutout to our virtual attendees, the vibes were still very much vibing ✨💻💜 The summit brought together women across different workstreams, with every moment feeling intentional, fun, and energizing — from thoughtful discussions and meaningful conversations to creating content and updating headshots, I wouldn’t change a single part of it. Julia Bridges, M.S. reacted on thisJulia Bridges, M.S. reacted on thisOver the weekend, I made my 1000th post on Instagram, and quite frankly, that number looks insane to me! I started creating content just about 3 years ago, and the goal was never to reach a specific milestone or get something specific out of social media. The only goal I had was to put myself out there consistently. And that has done amazing things for my career in tech and has helped shape me into who I am today. Things I’ve learned: 1. You don’t need to have everything figured out. 2. When you commit to something, follow through and never give up, even when things get tough. 3. Consistency will take you places - places you never imagined you were capable of reaching. 4. Habits and results compound. You may not see results today, but then boom, “overnight success.” At least that’s what people would say. 5. You’re inspiring people, even if you don’t know you are. 6. The process will shape you into something greater than what you imagined for yourself. Today, I have an audience of ~250K across social media platforms. I’ve impacted hundreds, if not thousands, worked with some of the biggest companies and brands in the world, and helped brands generate millions of dollars in value. I never imagined any of this happening when I first started. I just hit “post” on my phone that first time, and watching the video after it went live definitely felt cringe. But I didn’t let those negative feelings stop me. I hit post again. And again. And again. And again. For the 1000th time. And I’ll do it a million more times. Go after the things you like, even if you don’t know where they’ll lead. And as always, thank you to everyone who has ever supported me. Y’all have kept me going. ❤️
