Joy Alvey reposted thisWalk the floor talk to teammates and truly connect. See what happens.Joy Alvey reposted thisEarly in my career, I learned a leadership lesson that has stayed with me. Our CEO led by example, not from a distance. He visited distribution centers and walked the warehouse floor, knowing people by name and fostering connections. As I traveled the country implementing systems in our distribution centers, I noticed something significant. You could gauge the strength of a General Manager within minutes—simply by how they interacted with their team. It wasn't about metrics or reports; it was about connection. People don't give their best to a title. They give their best to someone who sees them. Someone that cares. Leadership is not about being known; it’s about knowing the people on your team.

Joy Alvey posted this📢 Proud Mom Moment - and a Request for Help from my Connections Hi everyone – I’m reaching out to my network for support. My son has spent the last several years as a successful General Manager in the restaurant industry, where he’s built strong leadership, budgeting, cost control, and team development skills. He recently completed his Finance degree and is now looking to transition into the corporate world in an entry-level Financial Analyst role. He brings: • ✅ Proven experience managing P&Ls and driving profitability • ✅ Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills • ✅ A track record of leadership, accountability, and operational excellence • ✅ A fresh finance education with hands-on exposure to financial modeling and analysis He is eager to learn, highly motivated, and ready to bring real value to a finance team. 👉 If your company is hiring or you know of any entry-level finance analyst positions, I would be grateful for the connection or referral. I have posted a link to his profile in the comments. Thank you in advance for any leads, advice, or introductions – your support means a lot! #FinanceJobs #EntryLevelFinance #FinancialAnalyst #LouisvilleJobs #RemoteJobs #JobSearch #ReferralsWelcome

Joy Alvey reposted thisJoy Alvey reposted this"Yesterday I cut someone off in traffic. Total mistake. He laid on the horn, flipped me off, and when fate had it that we both ended up in the same parking lot—he was waiting. Middle finger up. Yelling. Cursing. “LEARN HOW TO DRIVE!” I stopped. Rolled down my window. Let him vent. Then I said calmly: “You’re right. I cut you off. I’m sorry. That was a stupid mistake—and I’m grateful for your quick reflexes that kept us safe.” He froze. Still mad… but caught off guard. All he could mutter was: “Just be careful.” Inside the store, I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was him—only this time, calm. “I owe you an apology. I had a rough morning. Thank you for reminding me everyone makes mistakes. I shouldn’t have reacted like that.” We smiled, wished each other a good day, and walked away. Lesson learned: Kindness disarms. Sometimes three words—I am sorry—can turn rage into understanding."#Godfidence #gracetowin #scandalousfaith #repost

Joy Alvey shared thisThis! I can think of so many paths I’ve crossed in my life and career that have had this impact. Kindness, patience, and taking the time to help someone along the way should be how we strive to live in general. Love this!Joy Alvey shared thisStrategy or titles don’t set the best leaders apart. Their humanity does. Too many leaders fall into the trap of crushing spirits for quick wins, sacrificing wellbeing for metrics, or trading humanity for efficiency. But leadership can be different. According to Gallup, teams with engaged leaders are 39% more likely to deliver above-average results. When toxic leadership stops: ❌ Creating unnecessary urgency ❌ Avoiding difficult conversations ❌ Making impossible demands ❌ Blaming others for failures ❌ Using fear as motivation ❌ Withholding information ❌ Playing favorites And when they choose instead to: ✅ Lead by example ✅ Trust their people ✅ Set realistic timelines ✅ Invest in team’s growth ✅ Support work-life harmony ✅ Create psychological safety ✅ Listen with genuine interest This isn't just theory - I've lived both sides. I’ll never forget when a senior leader stopped to help me design better spreadsheets early in my career. Instead of dismissing it as “not his problem,” he spent an hour walking me through how to make them clearer for executives. He later became my mentor. His belief in me gave me the courage to apply to an Ivy League MBA program. One hour of his time changed the trajectory of my career. Every interaction is a choice. Whether it’s your next 1:1, team meeting, or email; Choose today and every day to be the leader you wished you had. P.S. Joy Alvey reposted thisJoy Alvey reposted thisYou are the sum of all the tiny actions you take every day. Your brand isn't about likes and followers. It’s your reputation and how you treat the people around you. For example, if you’re rude to a waitress in front of me, we are finished. No matter how many followers you have or how much money you make. As Usain Bolt shows us perfectly here. Simple gestures often mean more than you could ever imagine. We all have our own personal brand in the real world. Make sure yours is working for you and not against you. Joy Alvey shared thisAnd remember - kindness does not equal weakness! 🫶Joy Alvey shared thisNothing in life has a higher ROI than being kind. 1️⃣ Kindness creates connections The best friendships and deepest relationships all began with a simple gesture of kindness: a smile, a compliment, a "hey, how's it going?" 2️⃣ Kindness creates happiness Multiple studies show that Kindness provides a boost not only to the recipient's happiness, but the provider's as well. 3️⃣ Kindness creates hope When life gets dark, a person's kindness can be the shining beacon that helps us through. ♻️ Repost this if it resonates 👥 Follow me for daily content.

That serendipitous detour launched a career she's never looked back on. From pharmaceutical distribution to ambulatory surgery centers at Cardinal Health, Ali learned firsthand how essential supply chain is to patient care — if the right items aren't there for a surgery, real lives are impacted. She brought that lens to GHX, where she now leads procure-to-pay automation for major health systems, translating operational complexity into efficiency and cost savings. Most recently, meticulous data analysis surfaced millions in overpayments for one health system — a result that speaks to both her technical depth and commitment to customer outcomes. Ali is equally passionate about bringing up the next generation. As a mentor in GHX's ACE (Accelerated Commercial Excellence) Program, she helps fast-track new graduates into the industry, guided by a belief she lives by every day: "What's learning if you're not sharing it?" Join us in celebrating Ali's impact, her partnership-driven approach, and her commitment to elevating the future of healthcare supply chain. #WomenInSupplyChain #HealthcareSupplyChain #Automation #MentorshipMatters #NextGenLeaders

The group witnessed firsthand how every shipment, process, and partnership helps support better care for our communities with a tour of the Owens and Minor Distribution Center in Morgantown, WV. Much of the important work we do here at Allied hinges upon what takes place between those four walls every day, ensuring the right products land in the right hands when and where they need them. When asked about his experience, Matt expressed the following: "I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn from the professionals to gain a deeper understanding of the innovation and operational excellence that drive these organizations." A huge thank you to Kaylee Fink and Owens & Minor for making this trip possible. We greatly value your continued partnership & commitment to investing in the future of healthcare supply chains! ⭐ #AlliedHealthSolutions #WVUMedicine #OwensandMinor #HealthcareSupplyChain #HealthcareGPO

Joy Alvey reacted on thisJoy Alvey reacted on thisGreat day spent onsite at Owens & Minor’s Morgantown Distribution Center with the Allied Health Solutions intern group! It was a pleasure giving them a behind-the-scenes look at how healthcare distribution supports patient care every day. We walked through our distribution center, discussed the critical role the supply chain plays in keeping hospitals running, and explored the products and services we provide to support WVU Medicine. From inventory management and logistics to clinical products and value-added solutions, it was exciting to share how much goes into ensuring providers have what they need, when they need it. Thank you to everyone who helped make the visit a success. Investing time in the next generation of healthcare professionals is always worthwhile, and I hope they left with a greater appreciation for the impact a strong healthcare supply chain has on patient outcomes. When she was in town doing some training, we were doing head shots and we decided why not go all Olan Mills/Sears 80's photo. For your scrolling enjoyment.

Joy Alvey reacted on thisJoy Alvey reacted on thisI'm thrilled to announce my promotion to VP of Supplier Sales at GHX. This milestone means so much more because of who I'm following — Denise Odenkirk Denise has built something truly special — deep client relationships, lasting loyalty, and a culture of trust that defines this role. She is the most authentic customer advocate, through and through, that I've had the privilege of learning from in my career, and somehow she makes it all look effortless while keeping everyone in the room laughing. The legacy she leaves is the greatest head start I could ask for, and the bar she set is both inspiring and a little intimidating. I'm showing up to this role with tremendous ambition, committed to honoring what Denise has built. Denise, we are all wishing you the very best in your incredibly well-deserved retirement — we will miss your contagious energy and amazing sense of humor. Photo ops from 2014 and tarpon fishing in the Florida Keys in 2017 (we caught zero tarpon but had a lot of fun). #oneGHX
